I hear ya, and it sounds like the Kareela purchase has been great for us. I'm skeptical of the cash generating potential of the mall site, but then I was skeptical about Kareela too.

Upgrading parts of the ground can also generate cash though. How many people are smuggling in flasks after missing half the game in the beer line? And more importantly, how many women are never coming back after waiting 20 mins to go to the toilet?

I'm not suggesting we pour every cent we have into improving the stadium ourselves. But it doesn't have to be all or nothing. There is some basic **** that needs to be fixed, and we can't wait another few years in the hope the govt will fix it for us.
Yeah completely fair points too. The facilities are garbage.

I’m hindsight when that decision was made construction costs probably weren’t at an all time high and they wouldn’t have foreseen the rising costs (even though it should have been considered)
some would have been built in but nothing like the increases that actually happenend. i work in windows and we have had some massive increases, over 100% for most materials.
for example hutchinsons made a 20million profit on 2.5billion turnover for 2022

I’m a bit curious with this decision as well.

Not sure a shop front for Sharks merchandise (exclusively) is going to churn a decent ROI.

I’d rather that we lease it out to generate rental income from it.
I think we generate a positive income from rent, whereas we potentially see a loss as a merchandising store.

I’d imagine you‘d get more sales from sell merchandise at the ground on game days and at the leagues club when it’s up and running (use a van in the interim in need) than casual thoroughfare foot traffic in a mall (Hope I’m wrong).
Though when the club had its merchandise shop going, it was packed and not on game days either. I think being more centrally located and open more hours besides game day, could generate more dollars

As announced at the AGM if there is no progress on funding for the major upgrades by the seasons end there is a plan in place to do works in the off season including to install female player facilities by demolising the " hub builing " at rear of ET stand & building onto rear of ET with the passage way then closer to the fence line. Not sure what else would be included but they do have some plans .

Hopefully not too close to that edge, that creek fills quick in big storms

I'm assuming the ticket buyback thing didn't end up happening in time for the game today?

No clue. I haven't heard anything, but I haven't actively looked for it either.
Was supposed to be up before our last home game.

I'm very keen to go to our game against Brisbane but want undercover seats. My 7 year old probably won't want to go if it's raining, not willing to outlay cash for a seat not undercover.

I might be able to help you mate, I am not going to be able to attend the Brisbane game as I have a performance of my play on that night. If my son and wife don't want to go and I can't get any of my local Sharks mates to go, I'd be happy for you take mine.

I'll have to PM you closer to the date though.
