What has changed since Morris went is effort. What does that tell you?

I’m happy to back the board on this one. The boys playing like that tonight don’t do their future chances any good.

Clearly we need a clean out and it’s better it comes now then later, the call for Wilton at centre and using Trindall for 3 minutes was also stupid. We were in it all it took was a little adversity and we crumbled just like this same squad has been doing the last couple years, happy to see most of the squad turnover and leave.

There is no leadership in game situations

But anyway, thanks again guys, way to **** a season 5 rounds in.

****ing muppets.

Basically you’re giving a reason for the players to hang it up - professionals who are paid a lot of money

These players need to perform for their money regardless of who is coach - the bulk of them haven’t been performing for a while, the sooner those ones are out the better.

Definitely need a clean out but the team was putting in for Morris, they're not now.

Then they need to build a bridge and get over it. They are professional athletes who have one job to do a week

For a club that sacked their leader they like and isn’t offering half of them a new contract

You don’t know they liked him mate - the last 3 years this same squad has a winning percentage of 40%. it’s just like saying that they got comfortable with Morris and now there might be a little more accountability he’s gone and they are throwing the dummy out but we don’t know that neither.

Something had to give, the club made a call, back them and let’s get on with it.

The players need to do their job if any of us showed up to work like that complaining you would get sacked

As HB said - we have flushed our season down the toilet just a handful of games into the season .

I know the argument , just scraping into the 8 is not good enough , is bomber ‘the man ‘ , etc etc .
Give me a competitive team for 25 odd rounds any day over the possibility of the promised land of ‘ top four regulars ‘

The forgotten thing in this - our new sponsors must be so pleased ...

There is a reason that sports psychology exists. Playing for a contact/paycheck is an individual mentality. Team sport requires every individual turning up for each other. There can be no doubt that if they feel Morris was hard done by that it would affect them significantly.

We can't know exactly went on to make Morris's position essentially untenable. But it has coincided with a complete flop in form, so it is reasonable to draw these conclusions.

You don’t think the new sponsors didn’t know what the clubs plan was?

I agree 100% in saying that but, a time like this is usually the best time for when you will see a leader emerge or someone taking control and having people follow their lead or example.

I guess what I’m saying is... none of our players are that and/or our coaching/systems/culture whatever hasn’t cultivated that into them which is why I wouldn’t even be concerned if half of them leave.

Imagine all our players played like Tracey throughout this bs - we would be killing it

Seriously what was the alternative option? They wanted to sign Fitzy and i 100% support that. If they dragged that on well into the season the ship sails on some potential signings when noone knows who the coach will be next year. Once fitzy was signed there wasnt much choice but to pay Morris out and let him go. Every win would be questions of if we did the right thing getting a new coach, every loss its pushing the daggers in harder.

There was never going to be a perfect way to handle a coach change over that makes it work for everyone
