In your view, what do you rate the performance of the board?
It's difficult to judge if you don't know all the inner workings, and I am not trying to pretend that, or to be an expert in any regard.

You also can't underestimate the amount of work involved. Even in small volunteer committees, it can be seriously difficult balancing your actual employment with the volunteer work. And they don't have anything like the decisions related to massive property developments, grounds closing for 2 years, club acquisitions etc. I've encouraged well-qualified friends to run for the board, but they simply don't want all the unpaid work or the risks of being a director if the club runs into problems.

I think last year's negotiated development payout and the Kareela acquisition, show that the board is highly capable. The complexity of those negotiations are beyond most of us. Nobody can 100% judge if they are good deals, but from the outside they seem like reasonable decisions.

I do still have concerns about the leaks, the governance and the transparency. I worry about some of the little cliques and business relationships among some on the board and other parties. I hear leaks coming from board directors that I should not be hearing, and that frustrates me, as does how they hide the details of board election nominations every year. Each new chairman and CEO seems to promise regular communications, but they never really happen.

I am hoping that Dino being in a full-time salaried position will help the running of the club greatly. I hope he can get on top of the ground-level issues such as membership renewals and offices quickly. I also hope he sticks to his promise of town hall meetings, as he is great on his feet, and it would help reassure a lot of members and allow for proper feedback from the members (which at the moment is just getting channeled into social media frustration).

As bad as the situation is, we couldn't have picked a better time to stop playing at Shark Park

According to Buzz, Dino and several directors have apparently taken themselves off the payroll and are now working full time unpaid. Solid effort guys if it’s true.

We wouldn't have to pay them if the rest of the club didn't make their job so hard by constantly ****ing up.
Although some of them have also contributed to that
