Does make you wonder what the actual income has been and how much will be ongoing .
Extra works on the Eastern side .SURELY we come out of this in a Great position .
Does anyone have the facts ?
PS : What could go wrong getting into bed with the Middle Eastern Crew ? ( By the way my sarcasm switch is turned on )

Nothing, every “middle eastern Crew” owned franchise in the world has flourished, they a lot of money and aren’t scared of spending it, unlike some American and Australian businessmen I won’t mention.

Put it this way Etihad airlines has never made a profit, it’s just a muck around for the son of a middle eastern oil magnate (note. Might be Emirates) he throws billions at it for fun.

We don’t own the stadium though, pizza mans superannuation does, and what exactly did we get from the development? Some coupons? I thought we were on a highway straight outta debt, was all bs then I gather, I’ll assume we just got the price of the land from the developers, maybe a couple of mill, what a **** deal.

We own it, we just have to pay him back for the loan.

Can the bank come in and do whatever they want with your house? No.

Do you have the opportunity to re-finance? Yes.

In saying this it would be interesting to know how much the loan is for. It may not be easily re-financed if it ever came to that.

According to the AGM the loan to the private investor/s (including pizza guy) was set to be re-paid around the end of April, when we got another payment from Bluestone. Then we were looking to speak to major bank lenders again about ongoing finance. I wrote the below after the AGM.

In the end it means that we are on tracks for the estimates they presented at the AGM, as they were factoring in this being approved... Expecting $70m total from the development (since it began). $10m was paid back at the start. $7.5m is to be paid in April, $6m of that going to pay off all our loans (from private individuals), with the club now likely able to deal with a bank again. Then $10-15m of that total amount will be needed to pay for the new club. Leaving somewhere around $35-40m. This is all based off estimates of unit sale prices etc. And includes the assumption that we will sell our share of the retail/commercial side for a lump sum.

I think we would still be debt-free right now, but we probably have to take on debt to finance the new leagues club until the next payments come in. And with unit prices dropping for Woolooware Bay, everything is probably getting tougher.

Still I think the headline is a big beat-up.

Thanks Heaps SF ,
So we're not on struggle street providing we invest wisely with what's left of the income .
I thought we were going to have a BIG income stream forever .
I know Russell is just looking at all proposals , but would privatizing be a good move ?
If so , big Safeguards would be required .

There needs to be a clause that flies every member over to the middle East for a game.

I'm going to start taking bets now; who will be arrested first?

technically, the loan on a home is secured by the value of the home. So you own it, but if you cant make good your end (paying it back) the bank can and will re-possess it as per the contract

Lost at sea.
Hi all...

3 possible senarios are playing out here...

1) Raper stays in the top job, Kimmorley and Dykes retain their starting positions, we lose Gallen (spiritually if not physically) and we are 10 years away from winning a comp

2) Lam gets the job - we lose Kimmorely (to free up money for paying out Raper), we attract no real good players for a while and we win a comp in 5 years

3) Stuart is appointed, Kimmorely goes, we change the culture of the club and recruit some quality players - we win a comp within 2 years.

I know which I would prefer - how about you guys???

oh and another thing....did anyone read the article on Nutley? He made teh Super League Dream team in a team that is now relegated. Top tackler and top meters gained in teh competition.. and we let him go... our board is great arent they?

accidentally clicked on the first page of this thread started in 2006......prophetical..

As someone posted earlier ...
Success mate, they are very smart operators.

On a side note, Todd Greenberg would hate for it to get done - we would become the envy of the league.

Not very inspiring. Always frustrates me that they don’t email leagues club members about board elections and nomination times
