No. He blows up in the sheds or in the coaches box but he doesnt get to a presser and throw players under the bus. He did when they lost that 3 in a row for the first time ever and he seemed defeated.

He doesnt carry on like Ricky.

For me, i dont give a **** what coaches say in a press conference, they only do it cos they have to. Id rather the hard char be left for the training paddock and sheds. If the coach even half mentions somethi by negative about the players its then story after story of this player or that player demanding a release. The media are so bad for the game
Media pressure limits how honest coaches can be in their forced interviews. At the end of the day what you tell the players after the game and in the next few days is much more likely to have a beneficial impact than what you tell Danny Weidler in a compulsory interview.

If Fitz said anything close to what this coach said our players and staff would get hounded.

And if Fitz said something similar to this bloke would we as fans really cop him absolving himself of any blame?

I can't speak for this coaches circumstances or just how the players played but he recruited them and coaches them, and that becomes even more true in a professional league like the NRL.

Even when the Storm wins, Bellamy says in the presser that they didn't play well.

Interesting to see as a fan but there is a reason that speech came from a coaching nobody in a semi-pro league and not from an actual Nationally or Internationally respected coach.

If he finishes in, say, top 4 of the Premier League within next 10 years that would lend a lot of weight to his coaching methods. Hell, if he even makes the Premier League that would be something.
At the moment he's just a fairly rich guy with probably a decent idea about football buying his way up semi-pro leagues and losing important games.

Be interesting to know how the players respond, both short term and longer term implications - although I doubt it has made his club very attractive to new signings.
And he is owner/coach so doesn't really answer to anyone, most coaches would get chewed out by higher ups you'd think.

Also, disappointed he didn't call any of his players weak gutted dog people

I'd be appalled if Fitz publicly spoke about our players like that.
Some games last season privately talking to them like probably warranted...
The Dorking Wanderers under that coach have been promoted 12 times in 23 years. That guy started the club with a group of friends and now plays in a league that while being technically semi pro, still gets 1.5 mill pounds a year in grant money from the association. He’s very well known in the UK for his achievements. That said, he doesn’t get pressure from a governing body in the same way nrl coaches or the like would.

I saw that and it is pretty impressive
Nothing he has done (that I’m aware of) suggests he knows what is or is not good coaching practice at an elite level though.
Obviously doing a good enough coaching job at lower levels and good roster management to keep his team relevant as it moves up.

See if he can keep going up and if he gives any more pressers like that along the way

Alan Jones coached the Wallabies, and had a mighty 36% win rate coaching the Balmain Tigers 1991-1993

That coach being an owner as well means he has more skin in the game, it effects his back pocket and career.

Bellamy has at times called out his players in a presser (albeit far more respectfully and restrained). Perhaps out of frustration but perhaps also strategically putting in out there in a public forum to drive the desired response from his players. Embarrass them into responding and resolving the issue for future games.

Back on football (Soccer) there is the infamous presser from Antonio Conte shortly before he was punted from Tottenham where following a tough loss he basically labelled his players lazy, lacking passion/fire and happy to just draw a paycheck and be a mid table team. That the club and culture supports a losers mentality and that it had been so long since the club had won anything and he had not experienced this attitude at his previous successful coaching gigs.

He said the club and players disrespect the fans who pay money to support and watch their team and that it's not fair that the manager always has to cop the blame.

Big Ange has since shown that previous coaches were at least part of the problem though as he has brought a much more positive supportive and exciting mentality. With that the passion has come back and so has the wins on the pitch.

Still Conte wasn't wrong and knew he had enough and was prepared to move on after saying what he did. Some fans actually liked what he said and said it was overdue to be said.

Guy who said it basically expected to be fired, or already knew he was going to be, is ideally not comparable to any post game talks Fitz will be giving anytime soon.

What the fans want or like doesn’t always have much bearing either.

I think anyone who thinks Fitz should have given a media talk comparable to this guy this season is probably off the mark.
Massive coach sprays are fun from the outside though!

100%

Fan’s opinions do not matter

We sit here saying this guy should be dropped or that guy should be promoted but we dont know whats going on. The guy we want might be missing targets in the gym or the training paddock and wont be picked til he is fit enough. But we will still bitch.

I dont care if Fitzy comes to pressers after a loss with a cake for the journos. What he says in the presser has no bearing on what convos will be had with the team or individual players. If things are being dealt with if theres heads to roll, we dont need it to play out with James Hooper asking the questions

Jack Williams will never be dropped in that case ;)

100% agree mate. All of us keyboard experts know bugger all when it comes to the inner workings of the team or how any player is viewed by his teammates or his opponents. Those who pretend to know this stuff are playing with their dingalings.

Snowman today actually used the 3-2-1s from here as his proof that Brailey is ****.

So I’m blaming all you guys

If he wants to use the 3-2-1’s as the authority for his scoring, someone needs to tell him his best two forwards didn’t overtake Moylan in votes until round 16.

Ok - I'll keep the love:

I tell my troubles to the snowman
He's a snowman but he understands
He's not such a very very old man
He's a snow man and he takes my hand
He makes a man feel good when he's down
Head is touching the ground
He's going to help you if he can
He's a snowman
