Media pressure limits how honest coaches can be in their forced interviews. At the end of the day what you tell the players after the game and in the next few days is much more likely to have a beneficial impact than what you tell Danny Weidler in a compulsory interview.No. He blows up in the sheds or in the coaches box but he doesnt get to a presser and throw players under the bus. He did when they lost that 3 in a row for the first time ever and he seemed defeated.
He doesnt carry on like Ricky.
For me, i dont give a **** what coaches say in a press conference, they only do it cos they have to. Id rather the hard char be left for the training paddock and sheds. If the coach even half mentions somethi by negative about the players its then story after story of this player or that player demanding a release. The media are so bad for the game
If Fitz said anything close to what this coach said our players and staff would get hounded.
And if Fitz said something similar to this bloke would we as fans really cop him absolving himself of any blame?
I can't speak for this coaches circumstances or just how the players played but he recruited them and coaches them, and that becomes even more true in a professional league like the NRL.
