Yeah, coulda grabbed another Dugan, SJ or Moylan to placate the thirst for new additions.
Sht post because Flanno didn’t get to coach any of these players for long at all and don’t think he even got to coach SJ so you kinda missed the mark here

If you said coulda grabbed another Lewis, Barba, Ennis, Fifita, Bird, Bukuya, Maloney, Prior, Graham, Tagatese or Heihno etc than maybe your post would of made as much sense as you thought it did

If our defence doesn’t improve this season then I think we really need to look at one or two new assistant coaches.

Is this guy going to recruit any new players?
For the past 2 seasons we have lost players and not gained anyone of note.
Does anyone seriously think this current roster is good enough to win a grand final, or even week 2 of finals.
I miss Flanno
The Panthers just recruit a back up half each year and the odd back and it hasn’t hurt them.

Outside of Kaufusi, no established NRL players... but Fitz did manage to raid Penrith for both the 2023 Australian Schoolboys halfback and a guy some said should have been picked as the 2022 Australian schoolboys fullback (ahead of Chevy Stewart).

He's also added a lot of other depth and talented younger players. Atkinson, Bradbury, Puru, Coutts, Vea'ila, Fa'atili and O'Kane have all joined in the last 12 months. They won't all stick, but you have to get good players in to the system to expect to have a good team 5 years from now.

Storm continue to tick along alright almost never signing big names too

Forward pack struggled a bit last season but still made week 3 of the finals.

I get what your saying but it helps when you have multiple internationals in key positions already though. Of course you can recruit a couple nuffies and be fine.
I am on the Fitz train still and trust what he is doing. Just pointing out that you are comparing apples to oranges.

We have a couple of Kangaroo beating internationals in our squad right now. The panthers developed the bulk of their squad in house. I can't think of anyone in that team who was signed on big money from anywhere. They did of course develop a guy who may already be the GOAT so yeah that helps.

I get your point, I just think that what Fitz is trying to do is achievable. That said I'd love him to sign his old mate Taukeiaho. It looks like he may not be going to the dogs after all.

About to turn 32 you'd think he still has something to give, however not sure where his form has been at. I think that is a position we have good depth however after last season having regular injuries there that makes it a bit more attractive.

Rudolf
BHU
Finucane

McInnes
SST
Williams
Hazelton

Hunt
Kaufusi
Colquhoun

THT
Bradbury
Finau

If we assume Colquhoun and Hazelton will improve and everyone else will either at least stay same that is arguably too deep (unless SST on close to minimum). Depending where he is at you could almost swap SST and Hunt just to use Hunt as the impact guy and give Hazelton a bit more responsibility. He's quite limited in that line up. Of course everything can shift suddenly with injury.

We really only need some of these guys to improve a bit to have a very solid side that'll be competitive in the finals

I agree and Dale is our only ageing guy. I see last season as our "difficult second album".
