So how does Bomber do that?

Does he send out an email asking for volunteers?

Does he get the players together in a line and ask a volunteer to take a step forward?

Or does he just say bad luck Charlie you’re off to the dragons?

I'd assume they look at who won't receive an extension/won't see much game time and have a blunt conversation if Drags are interested. Players would be keen if the swap provides a better opportunity for them.

Billy doesn't seem to care who he plays for if his words on the sharkcast interview are anything to go by, so he's got my vote

Billy would have to be the guy. There was talks about him going to the dragons last year anyway. Injury and form permitting, he’s not going to see little to any game time this year. A semi-regular spot in a first grade team would only do his chances of securing a new contract the world of good.

It's not really a fair swap though is it. If we were the drags I'd rather keep Cam for the year then pick up a reserve grader. Maybe for Billy and Williams together, otherwise it would only be for someone we probably don't want to lose, like Nikora/Toby/Talakai which we clearly wouldn't do.

Isn't Charlie Chad Townsend's nickname ? ;)

I reckon for the amount of coin required to equalise McInnes , someone like Nikora could be in the mix .
There are a few edge backrowers coming through our ranks .
He was very ordinary last year

It's not about 'fair swap'
It's about they have him on the outter and have another player (McCullough) they want but can't afford. So they grab someone they are kind of interested in off us as they send McInnes out the door but the main benefit to them (in coaches eyes) is McCullough coming over.

I don't know the ins and outs of their cap. If they can't avoid McCullough like you suggest then yes I see value for them, otherwise i'd be holding McInnes.

From what I've seen around they've been trying to get McCullough but Broncos won't chip in enough towards him that Dragons have been able to

And I don’t think they should. Dragons want him, why should the broncos make it easier for them by paying his salary?

For sure. Broncos only want to release him if it frees them up a decent amount of cash
And bonus for us that Broncs are making them spend for him.
If he doesn't move it wouldn't surprise me if he was in another midseason loan to a team needing a hooker.

Thing is, if we got Cam for this year it would obviously push someone out of the starting 17. But who?

competition for spots is pretty tight in this sharks team - probs easier to stand out in that dragons squad and look appealing

surely McCullogh is on less than McInnes or is it about the same?

Tracey? You'd have your hooker cover, so just depends on if Bomber wants to carry a back backup

Talakai can play centre easily enough if needed. Could def run 4 forwards with McInnes in side. In saying that could still keep Tracey on bench if preferred as not like 4th forward would get many minutes anyway.

If McInnes comes over this year that would most likely mean Tolman is on the bench ... also assuming Talakai keeps his spot at 11 over Nikora.

That leaves a bench of
Hunt
Tolman
Rudolph
Fifita

Can’t see how Tracey holds his spot in the team over one of those 4
