No more crash plays - he's shown he's not good at it. His role needs to be simplified: quick play the balls and tackle everything that moves.

I’m almost certain that the reason he plays like this is because of the coach and his job is to do just that

It’s pretty sad actually because there’s a decent player in him

McInnes is a quality player but there's something not right with our pack as a whole.

Absolutely demolishes people in defence and does a decent job hitting it up. I don't think he's being used properly though (or playing properly depending on where you'd like to lay 'blame'). You'd probably even have him playing wider on 30 mins a game if you could put him anywhere.

I get the feeling that Fitz has simplified Cameron's role to a point where it's all about fast play the balls and nothing else.

He is so focussed on that role that he's playing the ball too early sometimes.

I don’t want us to be right but if we are and Fitz has told McInnes this is what he wants from him it’s tragic

McInnes is a good player and clearly the crash role isn’t working for him - it’s confusing

Respectfully and this is a genuine question cause I’m unsure, but what else does / could McInnes offer in that lock role?

Not trying to play the ball when he's still on the ground or on the top of a defender's head would be a start.

But yeah, he doesn't offer a whole lot else. He needs to be told to get that quick play the ball but not take unnecessary risks to do so.

We need a Radley type in the forwards… bit of ball playing/quick little passes in the middle - changes it up

Out of all the forwards McInnes could do this I feel

i got no problem with that, its his errors being a mental **** and trying to do everything to quick

i get the feeling every play the ball with him is going to be an error

I think he is only half responsible for the crash plays. He’s going to run that line every time because he is an effort player and he’ll always provide that option for Blayke. The problem is there are no other options for Blayke, whether that’s a bigger forward running a similar line or the backs calling for it out wide. He seems to get it because there are f all other options.

Nicho ran two crash plays back-to-back against the Warriors. I think it's more than just a Blayke thing.
