Not having a go at you but I thought the votes was for players performance in that game

Doesn’t the vote become a bit irrelevant if you look at anything else other then that ?
All good Wiz. My point was that he's been playing extremely well for a number of weeks. I thought his great run of form deserved recognition over the obvious suspects... But if he hadn't played what I saw as a major role, showed the qualities I want to see in the whole squad or some of that damn sexy upfield action this week, I wouldn't have given him points. You dig?

I'm pretty sure I gave Tommy and Hunt points in their early games, based on the impact they made as newcomers, not superstars (maybe in the making, though!). Same principal.

Mate. Took a fair while to formulate your response, but I think we can all agree it was time well spent.

It took me less thank 6 hours

It took you 12 hours to realise you’ve been smoked by try to keep yourself relevant. Try not to cry anymore. We caught you fudging results.

The 3,2,1 should only be voted on who you thought were the best 3 players. If you’re giving players votes for any other reason, it makes the result at the end of the year rubbish.

In short, don't be a dick. Don't deliberately vote to make a point or mess up the system.

For sure everyone should vote for who they think was best, but it's fine for people to have different criteria for "best" too.

Some pick the blokes who get involved in a lot of scoring plays - which is fine.
Others pick blokes who have a decent game with 1-2 stand out moments - also fine.
Some pick players who did a whole bunch of dirty work without any involvement in scoring plays or standout moments - also fine.
Some pick Ellie Johnston every week in the women's 321 because they are in love with her - which is borderline.

What is stupid is when someone want to say "so and so was the best by a mile and if you can't see it you've got NFI". That player might have been the best using that person's criteria but why should everyone else be subject to that? Just pick who you want for whatever reason you want - other than for intentionally being a dick.

Oi!!

I only gave her one point this week and I've been sleeping on the couch ever since!

Comment from the other forum on our boy Trindall:

3: Trindall - He'll own this team within a year if Fitz persists with him. If not he'll do it elsewhere. Would be hard to argue that when he's in the side he doesn't own the team already. He's a wizard.

Looks like the secret is out.

Do people who think like this think that Trindall is due a million dollars a year like Hynes was?
Genuine question

Trindall playing well for sure, in attacking space so was Moylan (it's just not my interpretation that Trindall is worlds better than Moyza in attacking 20). But was Moyza slightly better defence and a few extra (and better) long kicks away from 'owning the team'?

Trindall is doing a fine job but some have him owning the team, some have him needing to play 7, some have him dropped next year for Dykes.
Pretty wild differences there.

Playing well though, and I'm hoping his boot (and improved left edge) can help us a little in the tougher games too

I'm hoping this kid has ice veins and plays even better when the pressure's on. This week could give us a hint if that's the case, or if he just turns into the puddle under a sonnyboy packet in the North Queensland heat... Sticky Trindall, if you will.

I was thinking 12 million over 10 years or he might go back to Melbourne.

I think he's fine from a mental perspective (my guess)
Was very relaxed and nonchalant in media this week - something some have said is a bad sign in players but I don't necessarily see as a big issue
Like the rest of the team though he won't achieve much if they aren't all working together and winning battles

You can’t compare Trindall and Moylan, they have completely different skill sets

If that is your judgement no worries, from my perspective I can because they are playing the same position.
In attacking structures in particular they will perform a lot of similar acts - particularly engage their outside player and read what the next best move is to take advantage of that.
I think Moylan directed the team around plenty, at this stage I haven't seen any evidence Trindall does it more.

Hynes isn't playing like a million dollar player lately.
Well I think it starts next year!
Fair though, although I think some are harsher on him currently than he deserves. Given he runs our team I thought he went very well on weekend.
Other weeks while trying to force something behind a beaten pack can compound our issues it's also the main thing he has in his control to try and turn things around.

Some have said about players in the past 'you can't win a grand final with this guy' - I think Hynes can win you a grand final and that is worth paying for.
