Calls himself a Sam Walker type player... Whoah there buddy! Must have the same PR manager as Chris Sandown

Why is that hard to believe ? He plays eyes up and instinctive and likes to play outside the structure. I don’t understand ?

You put Trindall in that Roosters line up and he would light it up almost anyone would.

On another note - Thank God Townsend is leaving

In that he wants his lock to do half his job for him?

Obviously except for Flanju
Or Lam
Or Hutchison
Or Lamb
... or presumably Trindall because they didn’t want to sign him when he was off contract...

There’s a difference between them going well enough to make almost anyone look good and that player necessarily being good

harsh on hutchison, he has been outstanding for them this

sidenote: trindall will be our 7 next year

I remember last year when a lot of you on here said Tracey would be our 7 before Trindall would..

I remember there being an argument about which one would be first used in our halves at the time, I don't recall anyone backing Tracey to be long term 7 ahead of Trindall.
Depending on when you are thinking this happened it may be kind of a moot point, Trindall played halfback in round 12 and Tracey not until round 20.
The conversation I more remember though was at the back end of the year and Tracey did get more starts in the halves then.

Just a cheeky jibe, Wiz. It's a bit of a #humblebrag from Trindall

That's your opinion? The lack of contract and playing time would make that a weird confirmation from the club

If Trindall is a chance to be our starting half next year I still want to get another two players in to compete in the halves.

At this stage (if/when we re-sign Trindall) we have Tracey and Trindall and that is it.

We could move Metcalf to focus on halves to fill one spot, if it is likely he is better at FB I'd probably rather keep him training there though.

That means signing two players.

Ideally someone half decent like Hynes, or one of the flops on a really reduced rate.
Maybe a cheap 7 option to make sure Trindall knows someone is on his tail. There are a few options here but I still kind of like Gamble for his attitude, you get the sense he will never stop busting his arse so Trindall and the 6 (especially if it is one of the former flops) will know they can't afford to get comfortable as he will always be nipping at their heels. There are other options though.

That's crazy talk

That’s what I said

it wasnt for the 7, it was for the 6 to partner townsend after sj got injured

connor was better last year, finished the year better and has earnt his way into the team

as far as a 7 goes, there is no way i want him at 7 - his passing is not that good and he is a very one dimensional runner

Not to mention he doesn't really have a kicking game.

Interestingly someone on Sharkcast (can't remember who, maybe Riccio) said Fitzgibbon sees him as a centre.

A centre ? Seriously ... I guess we have to make him train somewhere

yeah it was Riccio that suggested it, so you'd think it has legs. He did look good at centre but who knows.

He's no winger I think we've confirmed, though can cover mid game if needed.

id be surprised with the young backs we have that they would put him there

Me too but he's a funny one though, the energy and effort he has shown with us makes you really want him on the field. If you are going to find a spot for him maybe centre really is the best fit.
It could just be the case his best position is 14 though and we just know he won't start but with his versatility there will always be somewhere we can put him on.
