Agree with nrly all that summary Puma, except Talakai . Needs a massive 2025, can really lead the team and step up ( or remain a bit inconsistent) Either way i see him as a $400k type player, in this period. I think he CAN do it, but WILL he? Its these type players with the mid range experience, we need at least the 10% lift, lead and consistency from . Also Atkinson i would keep, but as you say not at the Expense of Trindall ( but at $650k max ,or invest more in Atko)
agree with Talakai - I heard he is on 650k so not worth it based on last year as Fitz has reduced his game time off the bench and he is no longer a centre

Had a big discussion with a mate the other day on how we bridge the 10% on the 2 teams above. Its keeping the players we want/need, ie keeping Trindall at $650 k or less, topping up ie AFB for Hunt, Colquhoun for Slippery fingers, and elsewhere. AND Coach getting 10% increase in output/experience from surrounding/ existing players, hope for no injuries or another legitimate top 4 rival steaming thru ( ie Broncos). BUT if we pay $800k ( $150 overs imho) for Trindall as Puma and others say, we unlikely do what needs to be done in other areas.. Heck even someone like Sifa, who i reckon we can get more than 10% output from, gets in the trade mix, if he cant consistently lift the 10%
Does this 10% bridging the gap include GST?

Kid has shown he's quality and is only going to get better. I wouldn't be too fussed if we signed a bit over for him to stay.

Half-backs are hard to find and I think we have a good core in our halves for the future.

Oh I agree, but looking at whats on the market and how many teams are looking for halves, I genuinely think he’s going to get those offers.
Yeah it wouldn't surprise me at all. I'm just saying it might not be the best move for career longevity.

I'd be alot more upset if we lose Stonestreet

For mine

Off-contract end of 2025:
Braydon Trindall - nothing over $650k
Briton Nikora - MUST - Pay up to $750k
Cam McInnes - KEEP - 2 years for $900k ($500k + $400k)
Daniel Atkinson - on the fence - see what happens with Trindall $250k
Kade Dykes - last chance - $250k
Oregon Kaufusi (Mutual Option in 2025) - $450k - I'm worried he will want more
Ronaldo Mulitalo - nothing over $500k. Love his passion but we can't pay for passion. Too on same coin.
Sam Stonestreet - MUST !!!!
Teig Wilton - On the fence. Nothing more than $480k
Tom Hazelton (Club Option in 2025) -On the fence - Nothing more than $400k. Can see him wanting more
Tukupa-Ke Hau Tapuha - MUST !!!
William Kennedy - Let him go. Ison is our next fullback and we can save some coin.
Dylan Coutts (Dev List 2024/2025) - Keep
Liam Ison (Dev List 2024/2025) - Keep.

Off-contract end of 2026:
Blayke Brailey - was on the fence however he is important and stepped up - nothing more than $600k
Brayden Hamlin-Uele - Let him go. Not worth the coin.
Jesse Colquhoun - MUST !!
Jesse Ramien - MUST !! not more than $65ok
Kayal Iro - Keep - may command $500k
Michael Gabrael - keep - cheapy
Sione Katoa - Let him go if it means keepign Stonestreet - may save some coin
Siosifa Talakai - Keep - nothing more than 700k
Toby Rudolf - on the fence - proabably let him go if he commands more than 600k

I'm keen on Pollard, Taj Ford, Christian Dixon and Samuel McCulloch

Safe to say we are ok for halves and props
Well broken down mate.

It's funny how no-one is really looking to give Blayke a payday. He's become worth more to the team this year than just about everyone on more coin (it suggested to get more) and plenty of clubs are in need.

Would put him towards the bottom of the 6-10 bracket

But from there it’s a 200k dive off to average of the 11-15 bracket.

1-5 average is 800k

Why would they give Brailey a pay day when he's already locked in?

And how do we know he's not already on a good wicket?
From what can be found he's on $550k for the next two years. That means clubs can start speaking to him from 1 Nov next year. It's not a bad wicket but after another season like this one he should be getting IPL level offers.

I think he has to be our no.1 priority. We could end up playing Berrell...

All this cabbage talk reminds me of that famous line in Days of Thunder re Japanse Inspections:

"Now y'all heard of a "Japanese Inspection?" Japanese Inpsection, you see, when the Japs get in a load of lettuce they're not sure they wanna let in the country, why they'll just let it sit there on the dock 'til they get good and ready to look at. But then of course, it's all gone rotten... ain't nothing left to inspect. You see, lettuce is a perishable item... like you two monkeys"...

I’d say Brailey is potentially on more than that now and he’s become a much better player since he signed that contract.

He’s one of the best in the game and I think he’d be demanding a lot more than that. Plus the fact he plays 80mins and hardly misses any footy. Would be pretty hard to replace.

Other than BHU who I want to reserve judgment for another year I agree with the rest
