I think he does need to show us some loyalty after the events from earlier this season.

As long as our offer is fair, then I can’t see him leaving, even for a bigger offer (unless it’s a ridiculous one).
I think “needs” is a bit much. It would be nice for sure, but I wouldn’t judge him for doing what’s best for him

If he stays - how much do we think it will cost us per year ?

Taking into account good will , loyalty and at the end of the day - him doing the best he can for himself ?

The variance in guesses is very wide from what I’m seeing ?

Upgrade to $500-600k until we get through the mass resigning/purge of 2025. If he's here for the long term then that gives him good money now with the chance to prove he's consistently at a high level and worth another top up for 2026 onwards.

I reckon 700 is the magic number. I can imagine a desperate club like the Broncos or Dragons paying more.

Do Broncos have the money with the contracts they’ve recently signed players too?

Dragons would definitely be interested

ARey will b3 retiring, so they would use that I guess
Word was previously they wanted to go hard for Sam Walker

I wouldn’t think they’d rush after Trindall either, Madge will wanna get the lay of the land and see whose on the roster.

By the time a new 7s taking over Mam and Walsh both a bit more football under their belts

Clifford, Schneider, Sexton*, TMM available
And internally they have Madden, Rogers, Paix, Walters and a fun youngster (Cody Black I think his name is)

*speaking of gun youngsters Bulldogs have one too so Sexton likely to move in next 1-4 years

BRAYDON TRINDALL

The Sharks five-eighth is arguably set to be the most sought after playmaker to hit the open market on November 1.

The 25-year-old is coming off a breakout year that saw him score 12 tries and 20 try assists in 20 games for the Sharks and has revealed he will test his value on the open market.

Trindall usurped Nicho Hynes as the Sharks’ chief playmaker, with Hynes reportedly set to be shifted to five-eighth or fullback next season.

However, the Sharks will have to break the bank to hold onto Trindall, who is on a reported $350,000 next season and could command at least double that on the open market, with some experts suggesting he is worth $900,000 to the right club.

There are no shortage of clubs looking to sign a chief playmaker with a void of quality halfbacks in the NRL, so if the Sharks want to keep him they will have to come up with a big upgraded extension offer and fast.

As for the clubs who could make a play for his services, the top of the list could be the Dragons with Ben Hunt’s contract situation at a stalemate.

Outside of Kyle Flanagan and Lyhkan King-Togia, Shane Flanagan doesn’t have a lot of halves depth at his disposal for 2025 and it could only weaken ahead of their 2026 campaign.

Elsewhere, the Bulldogs are always in the market for talent and could see Trindall as a perfect man to partner Matt Burton.

The Cowboys could also make a play to recruit Trindall should Todd Payten want to sure up his halves depth and potentially replace Jake Clifford, with Chad Townsend also leaving.

Need to re sign this guy. Can’t afford to lose him. 2 years at 650k a season is what I think he is worth. And given we’ve stood by him through the **** he should accept that. His next contract is a different story. But for now he should show us loyalty.

Throw in an upgrade for 2025 and I think something like this will get it done.

I still think thats too low if he’s attracting offers from rivals for $800k plus. Considering the halves market is dry as hell at the moment, especially when Walker re-signs. Tricky’s going to be getting offers of a premium rate I think, especially now that Flanno is probably going to be in the mix with Hunt leaving. You’ve still got Brisbane as well, which don’t miss too many targets.
