With all due respect, I think its very unfair to suggest that Brailey is ‘afraid of contact’. He wouldn’t of got as far in his career in the position he plays if he was. I know he’s underperforming and he needs a Fitzgibbon sized rocket lit under his arse, but I mean come on. Thats a bit ridiculous.

This is the guy that makes 50 tackles a game

FWIW I think Brailey actually isn’t afraid of contact. How often do you our forward pack steamroll up the field? Not very.

And they have played like that for long enough that Brailey has slowly worked it (his running game) out of his game.

I’m not saying he couldn’t do more, because he definitely could. But I don’t think our style of play works in his favour.

For anyone who's played footy at any level, contact tackling someone is not the same contact as being tackled nor does it really hold the same level of apprehension. I just call what I see. He is very reluctant to run at all, let alone explode out of dummy half at space that might be there. He never does that. And when forced to get tackled he bends over to protect himself.

I get that but anyone standing their ground to try stop NAS ... I just can't say they fear contact. Who knows though maybe some lingering demons from doing his leg a couple seasons ago after a scoot.

He's a lightweight. If he doesn't get to ground the D will hold him up flip him on his back & it'll be a 6sec PTB.

Exactly. It would be stupid for him to not protect him self and get hammered.

Zero tackle has Brailey on 500k per year. That’s a lot less than what I would have guessed he is on, I just assumed it would have been more.

If that is true, do we think that is “ok” value?

I think most people will say not it’s not good value. I’m on the fence. He makes a million tackles a game, is tidy, prone to some dumb mistakes and could offer more of a running a game.

But compare it to Harry Grant on 1 million per year. Perhaps it’s ok value? If we have Brailey on 1 million per year, then we lose the 500k we used to upgrade Hynes (just an example).

Brailey is great value, and in a position with very limited options across the league. I suspect Kennedy will be on similar money. If we could get the same upside out of Blayke we'd be laughing.

Our best behind Nicho.

If he plays like that every week he’s worth every cent.

Agenda: a constant message despite reality

Truth: reality

Two different words with two different meanings boys - google can help you out

Anyone who was happy with brailey or Moylan’s performance up until tonight would be stupid

it’s not rocket science or maybe it is
