Without a doubt there will be players heading to court. I think (and hope) that it will be so murky as to who did what to who and who is responsible for it that it wont be successful.

The players have admitted guilt the substances were banned but they were by all reports never forced to take it.

They were definitely aware that the substances were not normal - one even queried (to the laughter of teammates) what "equine" meant.

The club (as in the Ltd company) never purchased any of these supplements (that has been reported).

I think (and again hope) there will more then enough doubt as the responsibility for the cases to not be successful.

Every player had the right to say no, or to ask the status bla bla bla, aswell as they are obliged too aswell. Its not like elkin tied em up while Dank ran along jabbing them.

The players may have brokered a deal but they cant walk away having held no responsibility either. an honest man would take the 3 game ban, thank their lucky stars and get on with life.

I think this is true - the players have some obligations here as well, not just the club.

Is it true Pom and other o/seas players didn't take the early plea because it would impact them more . Any drama's with that split from the rest of the players ?

With Tate injured and others. He is far from first choice.

I feel sorry for them all in a way, but at the same time they all do have minds of their own. And if you are being asked to come up to the corporate suite to get a jab, clearly thats not something the club was endorsing, and players that just went 'better do as im told' show exactly why football players need better educations

what about ending L.Douglas record of playing consecutive games

well it stops at 214 games.

The NRL said they wont be stripping Gal of his accolades this year, or taking back all Luke Douglas' record either. Which i think is fair

Most people will go along with just about anything when in a group situation.

For any legal action against the club to be successful, the player will need to prove actual loss :

- Loss of income : Would be fairly limited for most players, given the backdated 12 month deal
- Loss of reputation : How do you quantify this ? What is the typical rugby league player's reputation worth in the era of bubbling etc ?
- Absence of duty of care : Probably the strongest argument, but again what actual losses & impacts did this lead to ?
- Adverse health impacts : Extremely grey area - good luck proving that ! Isaac Gordon is probably the exception, with the alleged Warfarin use / bruising.
- Stress : Again quantify the actual losses & impacts this lead to ?

'most people'. Athletes arent most people. This slip up could have cost most of them careers, or huge chunks of money in their careers. They have all really been let off with a slap on the wrist. THis isnt like oh i was at a party and everyone had a joint so i did too.

If some **** with an esky full of drugs is injecting you in the sponsors lounge, then you are either stupid to let it happen, or stupid to not ask some serious questions. Obviously all our guys did neither. So are rendered stupid.
