So much for the conspiracy theory that the NRL was somehow favouring the Titans. DCE made his own decision and good on him.
The Titans knew the risks. They gambled and lost. No sympathy from me.This has just become embarrassing for the game. Glad they're changing the rule.
Because of the stupid round 13 rule the Titans are ****ed for 2016. They signed DCE and let Seizer go, DCE backflips months later and it's being said Seizer won't backflip.
The Titans have respectably lost two halfs in this debacle.

DCE probably would not have signed with the Titans if he was not able to renege. The contract negotiation would have been different. It is the negotiation process that people don't like.I ****ing love it.
Poetic Justice at it's absolute finest.
NRL run team manages to secure top line sought after player in a position difficult to find talent in order to aid their failing franchise, only to be bent over backwards by their own incompetent rules that allow for said player to renege.
What a beautiful day.
80 000 last night on a Tuesday night at soccer match.FFA and AFL must sit back and giggle at NRL sometimes. Wow.Yeah it's very embarrassing for the code. Amateur hour at the NRL.

That the Titans are NRL run is irrelevant. There is nothing poetic, it is just another day.
The episode shows the salary cap is working. The NRL club did not get its man as suggested by conspiracy theorists. A messy negotiation, yes, but all parties knew the risks.Remind me again who's rule allows him to renege?
Oh that's right the NRL's.
Keep walking.

It is good to see the cap working.

It's a stupid rule but it is how it is.
I have no sympathy for the Titans if they havnt planned for this senario.
At the end of the day, you can't rely on someone's word when money is involved.
Yep big congrats to Sydney FC for pulling such a great crowd.
I reckon 90% of the crowd were there because they were disillusioned with the NRL signing process.
Because the NRL didn't do anything wrong in the first place. They merely guaranteed the Titan's deal. This is entirely consistent with the functioning of the salary cap (ie. all clubs spend to the cap) and the NRL was not screwing over any other club by guaranteeing the deal the Titans put on the table.Due to a flaw in it's own rules. That everyone largely agrees should not exist and the NRL are now going to take action on.
How can you not see the irony?
Not sure how they could have planned for it though?
Looks like Cherry-Evans is getting a godfather deal a la Buddy. That's what I wanted us to offer him on Day 1. Would have blown the competition out of the water. 9 years, $10m.
