Well he got smashed coming out of his goal-line once, but that happens to everyone pretty much after a slow play the ball.

Matthews defensive workrate is more impressive than the fact he can put a hit on. We barely went to his side of the field today so he didn't really need to make a mark on that side of things. But just because he's been a fringe player, doesn't mean that he's a dud. It's just that blokes that can make 40 tackles a game without missing any are rarely noticed until they start putting big hits on.

ALL THAT SAID, FFS A SECOND ROWER DOESNT MATTER UNLESS WE GET A HALFBACK AND COACH. LYALL PLS FOR ALL OUR SAKES.

Murphy on the right side in 7 and Townsend on the left in 6 and Bird at centre or whatever and it starts to look like a decent side if we have a coach and structure to go with it.

what has DI haters got to do with this

DI haters were smug when they thought the future would be bright under the current board. But they were wrong. We are back to the Stuart/Zappia days. Probably even worse as we got our first wooden spoon in 40+ years last year and even Stuart wasn't that bad.

We're no where near the Stuart/Zappia days. No thanks to the current Board though.

I'm all for giving Murphy a run because it's something different but I think we're expecting way too much from Murphy.

I'm certainly not expecting Murphy to be a world beater. But from all signs he looks to have a general kicking game, has buckets of try assists this season in NSW Cup, and was just about the best player in Qld Cup last season (Only beaten in votes by that freaky Canberra prop). As opposed to Robbo, who made like 3 crappy kicks all game today, and hasn't had a line break assist all season.

It's preaching to the converted in here, we all know Robbo is junk. Our results show Robbo is junk. His stats show that he is junk. Our junk coach rates him though...

FIRST SAM MOA, NOW PAEA
SMH.COM.AU – JUNE 1, 2015
LOPINI PAEA, NEWS, PLAYER MOVEMENTS, SYDNEY ROOSTERS
Lopini Paea

Sydney Roosters had so much success bringing Sam Moa back from Super League, they've now recalled another Tongan. Micky Paea, the Hull player who has signed for Newcastle, tells Set Of Six his bother Lopini is returning from Wakefield to Bondi Junction – where he first made a name for himself.

"My brother went home a few days ago," Micky Paea said.

"He got the opportunity to finish his career at the Roosters. They sort of looked after him there and sort something out for him post-career and just take advantage of the funding of the NRL. The opportunity doesn't always come around – it's the same reason I'm going. Mum is stoked we're all coming back, it's been five or six years since we've all been together."

Lopini is 31.

Just like Gyngell might have done for FREDDIE FITLER - how else would that guy get a commentating gig . Play for 100k a season salary cap , but on a separate contract life time job on extraordinary salary .

If he literally did everything Robbo did but a bit quicker it would be an improvement. Thats how sorry a state we're in. The bar is so ****ing low Murphy would be investigated for match fixing if he couldn't meet it.

Kelly and Blair opt to remain with Hull KR
Sky Sports – June 2, 2015
Albert Kelly, Maurice Blair, News, Terry Campese

Hull KR duo Albert Kelly and Maurice 'Bobby' Blair have committed themselves to the club for the 2016 season after discarding release clauses in their contracts.

The former Gold Coast Titans team mates had options to return to the NRL at the end of their first campaigns in Super League.

But the deadline to take up those options expired on Sunday and Rovers have confirmed that both players will be staying.

The news that the duo will be staying with Hull KR comes two months after club captain Terry Campese signed a two-year extension to his initial 12-month contract.

lol from what I've seen he pretty much does do exactly what Robbo does but quicker. He has a chip and chase in his game as well but basically he's not much different.
