Maloney has been a rumour for a while, and tbh, I wouldn't be upset if we brought him in at halfback

I do however, think that we should use barba to have a crack at DCE, and also have a crack at hodkinson, a.reynolds and mullen (I think he is off contract?)

DO NOT WANT GREG BIRD AT ALL

personally I'd love to get barba back at fullback, I know we have Holmes but when you have someone like barba on your books and after the year he had playing in that position it would be hard not to pick him there. I know next year we will need him in the halves due to lack of halves options

If we can land a decent half for 2016, and hopefully a todd murphy or one of our younger halves can develop I'd like to see barba go back to fullback and keep Holmes on the wing

With a decent half like the names you mentioned, Barbas ball playing from the back would be highly valuable and think it would make us more potent in attack

1) barba
2) Holmes
3) feki/Gagan
4) Beale
5) feki Gagan
Would be very exciting imo, way ahead of myself though hahaha

mullen re-signed with newy this season. he told me personally that he was very very close to signing here, but newy upped their deal but were still short. but he wants to finish his career with the knights.

He's already played first grade and has done a really good job in the circumstances. I don't know if I'd be happy to be rocking around at Henson park.

Soooo.... What are we going to do with nu now?
i think he is more of a 9, but he was also halfback in the 20's. If he improved his kicking game and organisational skills there is no reason he can't play in the halves

If we sign a good 5/8 or halfback for 2016 we have murphy, brown and Connor Tracey (probably a bit too Young and raw) who could hopefully develop into a good halves paring with the addition of a classy 5/8 or halfback

Right now I'd take Maloney. I hope there are better options developed within by 2016.

Greg Bird's boat back to Cronulla has sailed for mine. Still a good player and a favorite, but simply not required for the price tag. If his young mate Carter wanted out though that would be a whole other story - really like the way he plays. Slightly off topic but how crook are the Titans going? Not much to get excited about up there. Really had to bag a premiership by now to consolidate the fan base and their place in the comp to make their big early spending/gambling/generally dodgyness worth anything but now its almost crippled them. No money, no stars, no fans.

They really are a nothing team. I would like an away match up there next season though.

dont ever want them to fold though, need them to be partially successful, gives me an excuse to go on a holiday to the Gold Coast every year.. yearly 2 week holiday in Coolangatta Beachcomber Resort..

A year playing halves for Newtown. It didn't do DCE, Hodkinson any harm. Then, depending on who we sign for the halves in 2016, a run on the bench as cover for Ennis as he slows down.

It's a no brainer isn't it? I'd have Heino at lock and Lewis off the bench, but same idea.

Brown gives us options off the bench, hopefully Ennis will see the merit in no longer being an 80 min player.

I see no merit in this at all - don't fix what aint broke ffs

I'm so tired of having to cater for 2 hookers, weakening our bench.

I don't rate any player in a key position (read spine here) that can't do at least close to 80 mins

I totally agree .. Ennis playing 80 minutes at no9 will make our bench a strength !! Don't waste that chance IMO
