A number of his kicks were also caught by opposition players on the full

And a number of those were tough to catch. It's not as simple as always finding grass.

It'll be nice to have a 7 who can put a bomb or torp up that makes the opposition fumble it or have to catch it on the ground.

Yeah OK they weren't all 5m out but his kicking game was on point. I don't think anyone can deny it's leaps and bounds ahead of Chad's kicking game, if that's where this is heading.

I think what we will get on Reynolds is a major upgrade on Chad on player v player basis.

- the bee’s née’s of goal kickers
- can kick 40/20’s
- can slot field goals for fun, the two point ones are a bonus
- kicking game, Reynolds when he’s really on song can kick you out of the game
- kicking distance, can make a bad offensive set good or very good
- has more composure
- doesn’t have the regular or as regular brain snaps
- has more footy smarts about him

Where I reckon they are close or on par with each other
- speed, Chad may even have him
- defence, although I think Reynolds may be a tad better
- ability to pull off a solo play (outside of kicking)
- getting the teams to points of the field
- toughness, neither are not for their toughness, maybe, resilience is the better word
- both very good clubmen

I think that's a pretty good summation mate. :good:

He definitely plays a smart game, and has the boot to back it up.
Was surprised how little he touched the ball. That's not a criticism, his touches were important and at the right times, it's just Souths play different footy to us. Most all the service to the forwards comes from Cook, with Reynolds chiming in with a bit more of heads up footy style of play. If we sign Reynolds and adopt that style it should make people here pretty happy... there were hardly any drop-off underneath to a forward plays to be seen!

If we do play that way, it'll be a big step up for Brailey... he'll need to take more of a leading role and chose where the ball goes a lot more than he does now. Personally I think that'd be good for him and the team.

Quietly getting a bit more excited about Reynolds...!

We definitely need more from Brailey but that's for another thread.

The more excited we get the less likely it is to happen, play it cool!

Walters to fly down to meet with Reynolds tomorrow. Looks like Broncos will match Sharks offer and give captaincy. He would earn a lot more up there 3rd part wise you'd think. Game on.

They'll need to more than match the offer if he's moving interstate.

I still think he'll stay in Sydney for a little less given how many kids he as.

Also not a big commute from South Sydney to Woolooware.

Edit: TS beat me to it!
