Maybe old news Ryan Rivett to Knights

Yeah - have had that in the signings thread for a few weeks.

One of jersey flegg/ nsw cup players was an ok half. though we upgraded with puru

I'm not really sure that's the case. They are very different style players.

The way I see it...
- Rivett is a 7, and the Sharks aren't going to be looking for one of those in a hurry, and
- Puru is a 6 who can play a bit of 7, so a little better fit for the medium-term needs, and
- Rivett was brought to the club by Bomber... and when Fitz arrived he brought Riolo with him. He is younger, higher rated and Fitz's guy, and
- There was a young halves roundabout this offseason. Newcastle lost a good one (Donoghoe) to the Dolphins so there was an opportunity there for Rivett that may not have been there at the Sharks.

I feel like they have a few young guns coming through there though. Kiraz did a good job and there were big wraps on Alamoti (I think that's how you spell it). If Crichton can make fullback his own, they will be a pretty complete side.

Don't know much about him but the dogs seem pretty high on this Jeral Skelton bloke from union.

I think Davey is a good signing for them there, if they put Sutton at 13 and start Thompson and King at prop they can use TPJ from the bench in a few different ways.

Though that all hinges on RFM actually managing to stay injury free for an extended period so he can start with Kikau.

If Topine or Pele can finally live up to their potential that bench starts looking pretty decent.
