What's the max dollar per season you would give Bird to stay?

Is he worth 500 k?

I love me a good hypothetical....

crazy looking storm on the radar at the moment out Bogga way, might scoot past you and hit Gunnedah though

That's Doggie territory - Ol' Gunnedah. First time i laced up a boot was when i was living there.

Dogs are good swimmers, they should be fine.

You would have to say close to it. He's shown he can have a fairly consistent impact on a game in only his rookie year. Can cover most positions on the park if needed & is only going to get better. If Barba could hit form and stay in form, or if we could buy a suitable replacement, i would be happy for him to leave - granted Barba could deliver consistently or the replacement filled a similar role for the team.

Because you wouldn't put your house on any of that happening, i'd give him 450k over 4 years... Hypothetically speaking....

As snowman said it really depends what he is contemplating.
Also depends on the needs of the club.

If he is happy to sign on long term, to wherever the team needs him I'd probably be giving him 400k, with that to increase as a % when the salary cap goes up.
If he wants to demand positions that we already have well covered and be difficult I'd let him go and put that money towards trying to land Aubusson, Jennings or Walker for 2017.

In your head, rent free
a very good point and if he wants to leave ...Why

he wants to play 5/8

we have the best in the business now, and a very able back up

our pecking order of 5/8's at the moment

maloney
cleeland
brown

then you have barba and clarke*

the need for bird at centre or lock is more than the need for 5/8, but he feels he is a 5/8

if the opportunity arises for good money at manly playing 5/8, i think he takes it

so if he isnt going to re-sign and we know this early, i would contemplate a swap for matai
