I know it's early days but I can't see Bird making a really good fist of 5/8. Time will tell I suppose.

He has to be able to kick & kick well, Robson was one of the only few who got a regular gig in the halves & not have a decent kicking game but that is more a of a slight on us as a club as well.

:Yes::Yes::Yes:

Yep me too, although I did doubt Bird would go well as a 5/8.

Bird to fullback causes drama for the team dynamics IMO.

I reckon if he puts Bird at fullback to keep him happy then he risks making Val unhappy and losing him. Like you say, do what's best for the team, not individuals. If a player doesn't like it they can piss off to another club.

Yes, he's been good, but not much of his highlights package has been of him doing things that I expect of a 5/8.

He's a bit like Barrett really. Bog average with the things that you want a half to do, but physically strong and highly rated.

No wonder Barrett wants him there so badly.

I'm happy for him to start the season in the centres and find his way to the backrow when he's ready but ultimately we probably do want him in the pack.

i just think if we get bird roaming, lewis and graham on the edges, leutele and beale working with the combos they have built, and a spine of barba, maloney, ct and ennis, we are a better team than having bird at fb or centre

I'm a big fan of him roaming, just not sure if he's physically ready for the work load he would face in the pack for a full season.

Gee there's a lot of ball players in our side next year though, there should be no excuse for lackluster attack.

if hes not willing to play where the team needs him he can **** off. sick of players thinking they're bigger than our club.

play were you're told to **** or **** off !!

he should be in the centres or im starting to agree playing at lock. only thing i worry about is his defence in the middle and his weight. he looked like he always got dominated in tackles when running one out. so im liking the idea of centre.

big no to him as a fullback. val/barba need to be there

I actually thought his defence was one of the better parts of his game this year.
