hats off to the big guy for being a presence amongst the squad, especially in the circumstances.

Something you would expect from a dedicated senior player…. Right!

He's always been a good guy. It's just taken a near death experience for the tabloids to switch their narrative to where it should be.
great career move, hats off to his publicist!

In all seriousness it’s great seeing him painted as the good guy, as he should be. Was the best front rower for years and no other big fella could or can do what he did. His indiscretions were minimal anyway.

Yeah agreed mate. He's got a good big heart and you can tell how well he's liked, even by the opposition teams.

I agree.
I was more suggesting that some other senior players should have hung around to support the rest of the squad and not sooked off back home.

According to IG him and Sifa were at Shark park doing some training.
Good

Starting now is actually a good effort.

Going on a road trip and eating nothing but **** for 2 weeks because you can't be bothered and then having to spend all of preseason cutting back to the size you were the previous season (which was already max if not too big) was really bad by him.

Wonder if he will need Fitzy to spend the whole preseasons telling him what he is and isn't doing well like apparently Bomber should have, or if his 10+ previous years in the NRL and agreed metrics will be enough for him to figure that out for himself.

Some players wouldn't dare do a thing wrong to a coach they fear/respect - I reckon Morris was always looked at like the substitute teacher.

Poor form by Fifita and others but It's a real thing

Agreed but how much is it a knock on the coach vs a knock on the player.

If Fifita didn’t train properly because he didn’t respect the coach the club put in place he deserved to barely play any NRL, which is what happened.

He ****ed himself over and club around just because of who the coach was, and yet still got pats on the back from fans in here saying what a good leader he is, all the other players must love playing with him and respect him.

Nobody in here would accept that from Woods so shouldn’t make excuses for Fifita either. Doesn’t erase past heroics from him but I’d rather him add to his career with sharks than in a positive way than just a dine off what his younger self achieved for another season.

not really, we are paying a lot of money for a guy who is falling apart

I know, I was just teasing gumby a tiny bit. Although there’s also a part of me that hates when fans tell a player to medically retire, whether its just or not.

End of the day, that contract is the clubs fault, not his. If he’s got his heart set on playing on and trying to contribute then theres not much else to say about it.

He can't contribute though, that's the problem.
