3 borderline average nswcup standard players are leading the man of steel award

Have been a few young mediocre guys that have come back into the NRL better players recently so something is working for some of the guys that go over. And the English boys coming over are good.
But looking at that video of big Dave running wild doesn't say much about that competition.

Says alot when you look forward to your bench forwards coming on and replacing Fifita.

Become a massive liability this year, wonder if Morris doesn't quite know how to man manage him.

I really think the way Fifita is playing is hurting us.

Why?

He crabs alot, gives the defense alot of time to set and and get back the 10m. It then means the next ball runner is running at a completely defensive line. He is a massive momentum killer and its killing us.

If he were to run hard and straight and get a quick play the ball, we are running with momentum. Everyone running after him has an advantage. We have some of the most dynamic players in our team (Moylan, Johnson, Graham, Nikora, Uele, Xerri, Dugan even). Can you imagine those guys running behind Fifitas quick play the balls? Amazing.

Instead we get crabby Fifita where everyone stands still and watches prance around like big girl.

Mate, you’re on fire this morning!

There’s not a soapbox big enough for you. :)

(No offence! :) )

Is it bad I want him to cop a couple of weeks, has to still be playing busted.
Want 2016 fif back ASAP. I know he leads the nrl in offloads but a lot go out the back then they swarm the player and we lose a couple meters. Still love him like a raspberry vodka cruiser.

Missing the test will be good for us and I don’t feel bad for him, it’s his own stupid fault.
Two weeks would be ideal especially if Woodsy comes back for Dogs game. That’d be more than 3 weeks off.

I’ve said it a couple of times though I think his leg issue is permanent if not serious lay-off/surgery* and with slightly less power generation it’s easy to take the crabbing runs. They’re low risk high reward but on average are less beneficial to us than the power runs. The power runs putting defence in the back foot make the occasional crab more valuable.

*difficult call to make when most games he’s still playing well to have him have major surgery if that’s where it’s at

Won't happen but I'd like to see him start from the bench for a while and start with Woods.

If he gets 3 or 4 weeks I’d start him back from the bench and tell him he has to earn the start back.
If the MRC see it like commentator (it was Brandy right?) carried on he could get a decent break...

They should cop the 1 test and 1 club game but I have a feeling that Fifita will want to challenge this and end up with 3 weeks ....Club needs to be strong on this if they feel challenging this is futile ....
