My thoughts on this matter , bare with me it could be long , I have a lot of noise running through my head.
firstly , is Fifita in the wrong for visiting Loveridge in jail ? Absolutely not , in fact it's the Australian thing to do to support a mate when he has stuffed up .
Secondly , is Fifita in the wrong for writing FKL on his wrist , I don't think he is . stupid ? Yes , Insensitive ? - absolutely , Misguided - totally , Hurtful - my word it is , but is it wrong ??
is it worse than getting drunk and ver balling abusing a barmaid , several times ? NO
Is it worse than committing a simulated sex act with a dog whilst totally off your face ? NO
is it worse than getting in a car when drunk and driving ? NO
is it worse than playing under the influence of drugs ? NO
having said all that I think Fifita will pay a high price and tonight "may" potentially be his last game with us .
I'd be upset if this was the case but at the same time I would reluctantly agree with the decision. I doubt the integrity people will sack him , I think we will stand him down .
imagine if you will , we go on and win the grand final , what would be the media and general public reaction? at this point I will also say I agree with Ray Hadley , the average supporter who may have been wishing for a fairytale for the Sharks , will now absolutely hate us , because these average supporters will also identify with the Kelly family , and god knows how that poor family is coping right now given what they have had to go through.
so instead of lapping up adulation if we did win the G F , will be absolutely pillorised . You can also look at the hate displayed to Cronulla through a lot of social media and general media over the ASADA case , we are looked upon as drug cheats still despite the fact that the report said we unknowingly and unwittingly took the peptides. but to the average supporter Sharks players are drug cheats the same as Lance Armstrong Is a drug cheat .now we are "harbouring" a sympathiser of convicted killer .
fifitas careers is effectively over , can you image Daley picking him for NSW after this ? Ain't gonna happen.
I also reluctantly agree with Wilson on one point too , what did the senior players and management think of this display , surely
someone asked him what FKL stood for at some point ? Surely ? Someone should have pulled him aside and said it wasn't a good one idea .Again it's interesting with the timing of this release as it has been going on all year , why release it in the final week ! I think the NRL should be asked that question.
Interesting also that no one reports on Gallen writing that poor kid who recently died name on his sweatband , the media only focus on the bad and the hypocrisies abound.
sadly certain sections of the media carry a large voice and it's these people who are effectively going to end a players career over a relatively minor albeit grossly insensitive and uncaring matter .
