yeah that's what makes it hard to swallow regarding roberts. He has been sacked from 2 previous clubs because of alcohol related instances but got of extremely light for this case yet the nrl did SFA to step in and punish him

Yep, they put him on an "action plan" . Well that did not work at 2 (possibly 3) previous clubs.

Also funny how the footage of the incident vanished...Just like the football manager at the Broncos when their salary cap was under severe scrutiny.

Its the Broncos..............

Yep. Spot on. It is the Broncos. Find it laughable that there are calls to suspend Fifita for this yet the whole Roberts thing was handled quick smart and then swept under the rug. Not to beat a dead horse with a stick as I have said it a few timea now, however, when it comes to the Sharks it is always made to be a major issue.

Just also happens to pop up at a convenient time of the season too.

I'd like to see the obsession of writing siiht all over their strapping put to bed personally. Would rather a team all write the same name of a sick little kid that dupports the club, I guess similar to what gal does or the newy 7 that writes their names on his kicking tee.

I sent this to the NRL .

NRL ,
I am writing this mainly to be forwarded to the integrity unit .
I plead with them to not just react to the News Corp and a few other journo's articles written calling for blood and blowing the whole Fifita issue out of proportion, , from what the actual facts are .
The IS an agenda there against the Sharks that has been obvious for quite some time . Lucky Andrew Webster's Fairfax's article today pretty much sums up the reality

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/rug...t-turn-my-back-on-a-mate-20160902-gr7j27.html

If someone close to you does something hideous , perhaps in a moment if madness and goes to jail .You have two options . Write them off or support and hopefully assist in rehabilitating them
As an ex- coach of the person , Fifita chose the later Wearing 3 initials on his forearm standing for For JL is NOT bringing the game into disrepute itself . Just a public yet private showing of support between the TWO only . Fifita should NOT be crucified for that .
No matter what the person's social standing .especially with initials only , he at no stage intended wounding the victims family and no one would be the wiser .
As for consorting with people consorting with criminals ,.The police warned him privately , that should have been the end if story BUT somehow someone leaked it to the press ( a police connection ) and they took that opportunity to nvestigate the initials and SPRAY this information to the whole world .THEY are the ones damaging the game and hurting the victims family .THEY are the ones accountable PEASE don't don't punish Andrew Fifita and the WHOLE long suffering Sharks fans for an act of mateship that no one else should have known about and like most player do week in week out .
Perhaps you could ask the press for their reasons for even reporting this in the first place and is it in the best interests of the game .
Let's just play footy
Thankyou

Perhaps a few others could send your thoughts in addition to this

nothing fifita has done compares to getting behind the wheel intoxicated like she has in the past. The only disgraceful human being here is her

Totally agree.

I for one have no intention of reading the article. Even without reading it I can guess what she's said. I no longer buy the telegraph and if I do happen to glance at a copy I just look at the reports of the game - no opinion pieces.

And to Egg.

Love your passion mate and also you writing to the NRL.
But mate next time you send something like that it might be a good idea to have it proof read. The message was there but grammatically it wasn't. I know we all have fun on here sometimes about poster's grammar and spelling issues but if you're going to do something official you've got to make sure it looks professional.

Otherwise they will just think it has come from some illiterate nobody and they'll take no notice.

Apologies Egg, it's nothing personal mate but if you want the NRL to hear you it has to be well written.

In my job when I get resumes sent to me that are poorly set out it doesn't give me confidence that they are serious about the job.

Having said all that, I do hope the NRL send Egg a reply.

This is one of the more ridiculous controversies that our club has been involved in.

I really don't get the level of outrage over what really is a personal issue.

The story is being manipulated in to something it is not.

We need someone to sit down during the national anthem like the guy in the US playing for the 49ners, I'm watching that to see what the end result will be.

Article Egg was asking for post of, think it is the same. I ain't a subscriber but there are ways around things. Anyway.

No place in rugby league for Andrew Fifita

NOBODY likes it when we do this.

Comparing the codes and the individuals who take part in league, AFL and rugby union leads to ugly discrimination, occasionally unfair bias and an even denser line between the three. The latest example is Cronulla’s Andrew Fifita — a disgraceful human being, with a long record of bad behaviour who has now decided that he can find a violent prisoner in jail, go and visit him and then decide that everything the bloke has done is absolutely fine even though a family has lost not one, but two sons as a result of the thuggery he committed on the beautiful Kelly family.I’m not even sure that idiotic Fifita knows who the Kelly family are — the one that lost a son to a king hit in Kings Cross and then lost another one because he simply couldn’t go on living without his beautiful brother.Instead, Fifita has made a habit of going to see his friend, convicted one-punch killer Kieran Loveridge, in prison. This has not been something of a one off — it has gone on nearly all year and the visits are underlined by wrist strapping that states FKL — Free Kieran Loveridge or For Kieran Loveridge. Fifita denies the F stands for Free.

If it wasn’t so serious, you mighty even raise a wry laugh at the pathetic, disgusting nature of Fifita’s reaction and the way in which he has perpetuated it. The man has no shame, no guts and is excused by his club and his code.
For so long, he has behaved vilely towards junior league, other opponents who get in his way and even his own club that must look at him and think what are we doing?Cronulla fans have a laugh but the rest of the league find it abhorrent and entirely wrong. He is a bad person but because he can play, the Sutherland Shire is his oyster.Fifita should not be playing rugby league. He should be banned by coach Shane Flanagan, and Laurie Daley, boycotted completely by the Sharks fans and stop being picked for rep teams without any questions being answered. The Sharks juniors don’t need him hanging around their kids making trouble. So that’s when the league steps in. Dare I say it but incidents like this do not happen in rugby union or AFL.While there are bad eggs in both, nothing in either comes close to the atrocities that are almost routinely committed in league.

Let’s look at the club bosses who have overseen this rubbish — Flanagan, a candidate for coach of the year who has allowed it to go on right under his nose.

Then there is club boss Lyall Gorman who looks like a mild-mannered Clark Kent but has failed to put a stop to the place being one of ill repute.

Gorman appears to be honest but his credentials are questionable. Too many dodgy occurrences happen at Cronulla.
The place is competitive so everyone is applauding them but peel back the layers and things like this still go dreadfully wrong.

Fifita’s teammates are not emerging unscathed either.Where is Mick Ennis? The wonderful example of leader Paul Gallen? Why didn’t either of them say, “Hey bro, what’s with the tape and the initials?” Surely they would have thought it?

Fifita is one of those people who is in a side box that nobody can get to.He is not included in the group list, there’s no what the hell is that all about?

There is no fear from him.Todd Greenberg needs to assess the value of someone like Fifita to the code and then decide if he sacrifices him for the greater good.No coach or trainer should say leave the poor bloke alone and let him get on with it.This is the latest chapter in an ongoing book that makes us all cringe and seethe with anger.Make it the last instalment because normal people are completely over this bloke and the level of acceptance he’s granted in rugby league. It’s finished and we won’t be the poorer for it.

That article reminds me of Wayne Carey doinking a teammates wife about 15 years ago. She wanted him banned from the AFL for life for that. It was that affair that made me realise just how dumb Rebecca Wilson actually is.

If Rebecca doesn't like you then you should be stripped of your legal right to earn a living. She is a genuine idiot.

It is irresponsible journalism really - if Andrew (or anyone else that she writes about with that sort of vitriol) self harms because of mental distress then she can look no further than her own reflection in the mirror for someone who pushed him to the brink and beyond.

People living in glass houses and all that.
