for all we know the kid was layed out when Difita asked for the game to be stopped

Yes and he wasn't a kid. It was A grade. for all we know it could have been an Alex McKinnon type injury and David got the shi%s that some control freak riot copper wouldn't stop the game to allow treatment. For all we know the knob could have been trying to take a couple if first graders down a peg or two.

That may be the case and I hope it is. But we gotta keep our noses clean mate. Passion is great.
But being aggressive to a match official can only ever land you in hot water. Even if your right.

So do I. If you take a look at the NRL white Ribbon domestic violence type initiatives, a highly publicised problem with junior league games and the need for security guards, the NRL supporting gay marriage and so on, threatening to beat the tar out of a ref at a game he wasn't even involved in could see him strung up by his balls. It is not impossible he gets marched for the remainder of the year.

I was hoping the fact he played today, the real truth might slant more in his favour. ( was it confirmed David missed the game through his indiscretion)

Are you kidding? Seriously, you feel that someone will be rubbed out for the year for essentially saying "delete that or I'll smash you."

Well this was from the NRL

The NRL said today it would not tolerate any abuse of junior match officials, following serious allegations involving two Cronulla Sharks players.CEO Dave Smith said match officials are the lifeblood of the game and there will be serious consequences for any NRL players engaging in physical or verbal abuse or intimidation of them.
"Match officials give up their time because they love the game and the last thing they should be subjected to is abuse or intimidation," Mr Smith said.
"It is even more intolerable if someone with the stature of an NRL player is involved - we want the full facts to be presented in this matter."
Mr Smith said there had been mixed messages today in media interviews as to whether either of the Fifita brothers had admitted directing foul language towards a match official.
The Integrity Unit had therefore written to the Sharks advising that, if either player has admitted abusing a match official, they should be stood down from today's game.
"The NRL will never prejudge anyone accused of breaches – everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence," Mr Smith said.
"But if we become aware of any NRL players abusing match officials there will be very significant consequences."

So my thinking David was stood down on further investigation.

Who said what and why it happened, the NRL would have acted today if they had the full Story so would have LG seems as though they only have one side so far.

If all David has done is sworn at the ref and abused him then he is not in all that much trouble compared to his brother. If the reports that Andrew threatened a referee physically at a game he wasn't involved in then he is the one in real trouble. If anyone was going to be stood down it was Andrew not David.

Are you sure your last name is Kent or Rothfield lol.

The statement from LG and the NRL seems as though there maybe more to this actually the NRL release says as much lets just see what happens.

You just get the feeling the nrl will make an example out of fifita over this. 1 game ban should suffice but i wouldn't be surprised to see him get a 6 match ban or something ridiculous.

Ok, I admit it's a bad look and his actions were idiotic, but in no way is it equivelant to an 8 week suspension. That's something you'd expect to receive for a deliberate knee in the head or a king hit.
You can't touch a ref, let alone threaten one. Steve Roach got 4 weeks for patting a ref on the head in the 80s and they were pretty lenient times. Threatening a ref is a cardinal sin and much much more serious than swearing at them or being insubordinate.
