I love the guy, but every game there is a period or two where I can't stand him.

His best is so good, but his worst can be costly.

As much as he is known for trying to milk a penalty he or we should have been awarded one today, ref through the TV mike clearly called held, Klemmer after the held call picked up his leg & Fifita fell to the ground.

Deadset, this was a case of "the boy who cried wolf", ref knew it was or should have been a penalty but because it was Fifita was more than likely in his own mind adamant he wouldn't give him one.

Back on to him & trying to milk a penalty in just about every time he is tackled surely they have brought this up with him & told him the refs are on to you, give it a rest.

Even the commentators openly bring it up in the coverage, they even mentioned it in the footy show earlier today.

There is no comparison but what has happened now, is the media has painted Fifita x 2 as the villain (which i would assume they are here). So regardless of the outcome of the match review tomorrow or an appeal or judiciary or whatever, they are guilty. So if they get out of it lightly, the media blow up straight away.

There was IMO no grounds to stand anyone down today, short of an admission. It seems David took that option, which makes me wonder about Andrew. He seems to be the guy that has the most to answer for if the reports are true. Is that a beat up or is he just denying it for as long as possible.

Its serious, and a different case to the SKD thing, however, Auva'a played a whole season, pled guilty IIRC, won a grand final, then got suspended by the NRL.
I think the club should have stood him down. The reason being is it would probably have placated the NRL and I have a feeling we have just pissed them off again. Despite his ill discipline, we aren't going anywhere this year without Andrew. We can't afford to have him off the field.

due process Cranky

the NRL can't afford to argue with that

we've a history of knee-jerk reactions under pressure

I hear you, but if the story is true he could well miss quite a few games. It will be tempting for the NRL to make an example of him.

Surely missing todays game is enough punishment for david. Give andrew a spell next week, which at this time of the year might not be a bad thing as he can come back fresh for our finals run.

Add a token fine and that should be enough. Fairly idiotic of the brothers but it's not the crime of the century. Unfortunately our media are sensationalist and its the top story on tonights news and not a good look for the club

Can it really be that hard to play the ball. Every time he does it I have my heart in my mouth.

True and not good enough from Andrew.

However , have a look at Kasiano's play the balls today.

They could just as easily been pulled up and the one in the 30th minute was the worst of the day.

I think everyones aware of that. But i think people saying they should have been instantly stood down are jumping the gun. Let it play out. Trust that the NRL will take the appropriate steps in ensuring a positive outcome. And i dont think a 12 month suspension as Bill Harrigan suggested is that. I dont think David is alleged to have threatened anyone, Graham etc got 3 weeks i think for the good friday blow up. So for David i would say 3 games max.
