Nobody in the AFL has the stones to do what Hill did, is the reason the AFL get away with it. Players don't step out of line in the AFL like that for some reason.

it Is Illegal In other sports, but the players don't challenge it because they value the game and are not as selfish.

seriously does anyone believe Fafita when he says "I didn't have any option than to go" what load of ****, $600k for 4 years would set me up for life

The AFL has watered down their draft rules to avoid a court case. Once a player has been in the system for a certain amount of time they can change clubs far easier now. I believe this will be watered down even further in the near future.

Also, remember AFL is an indigenous game. Their players can't go and play AFL in the UK or switch to a code similar to AFL like our guys can.

If someone forcibly takes over the hire purchase on your Rolls Royce and says they'll drop by to pick it up in 12 months what do you do?

Take it out on the rally track to see how good the suspension is.
Rep'd. Damn straight I say we milk him for all he is worth, we push him and push him and if we break him ah well thats the Dog's problem.

Once our injuries are settled I'd like to see Fifita moved back to the bench. He seems to play his best footy from it, and it's not like we have to worry about him being unhappy that he's not in the run on squad. What's he gonna do, sign a contract somewhere else?

I have a strong feeling he is going to be a major bust for the money he is on. Rarely does a prop make or break a game, only example I can think of is Gallen in Origin 2 2011.

The only unfortunate thing for us is the lack of halves/backs that are coming off contract end of the yr.

Yep, I'm ok with it now, he's good but not 750k or whatever Bulldogs paid him, he can turn games for us no doubt & will be missed but as an example, a half like Cherry Evans can turn a game for us many more times than Fifita or any other prop.

We are better off getting someone for top dollar to help Todd out in the halves or putting that money to a gun centre or hooker.

I'm certainly not in the drop him camp.

However for Ferguson I certainly was.

Running what, second last with a few rounds to play?

Extremely disappointing hearing this news. Fifita was a player that came on leaps and bounds last year, only to see him leave is rubbish. I was so proud when mates who weren't Sharks fans would tell me how great he was last year. Fifita, at times, could be a gamebreaker for us. That 50 metre try against the Tigers, that kick and chase against the Dragons. Both moments I saw live and they were some great memories. Especially that try in the Dragons game where he slapped the badge and the boys surrounded. I dunno, it just feels tainted now.

However, if he wanted that amount of money so much, I hope what was going to go to him will go to a few areas instead. Josh Morris would be nice.

You also want that money on someone who plays 80 minutes.

Fifita will play an absolute max of 65 and that's pushing it for a forward.

Surely no one was serious when they suggested dropping him for the season?

I'm more disappointed at the fact Toddy was 2 votes shy of his second Dally M last season.

I don't care to be honest, I'm over it.

With him bailing,
Sponsors disappearing off the jersey,
Key players out with injuries,
Coach being suspended,
Aasada crap about to come out,
A board that is doing god knows what.
Poms leaving.

I'll keep supporting who ever takes the field and the logo and maybe this nightmare will soon be over.

Go sharkies

Yep, agree Gil. Tough times indeed, and a ****ty way to start the year (once again)...but lets just do what we do best and continue to support 'Cronulla Sharks', and whoever is coaching / taking the field etc., including Fifita.
Obviously were all a bit gutted to see him go, but no point in death-riding him, benching him etc., and being spoil-sports.
Lets just move on, hope he has a good year for us and helps to take us well into the finals.................................then plays **** next year, haha!

I'm increasingly more disappointed about Lichaa. I wake up in a cold sweat thinking he'll turn out to be the next cam smith. Bit like whoever it was at the dogs that thought "this Thurston kid hasn't really worked out, let's let him go". Is that guy even still alive?

Bundy we have a gun hooker in NSW cup and we overlook him and now can't keep him. He's local also. The 750k he's being paid is massive overs and like you I am OK with it now. I more gutted to see Lichaa going.

No mate, I want us to use him up as much as we can. Whilst he is still a Shark I want to see him play big minutes.
