Just get Roy and HG and Billy Birmingham to commentate the trials. That will make things more interesting (on TV at least).

Look no further than back in 1994 when Souths beat a star studded Brisbane in the old Tooheys Challenge with a bunch of Neville Nobodies playing for them.

I did actually consider starting it for tonight i have to admit, then i saw the teamlist

In a trial the overall result doesn’t matter. With every man and his dog on the bench and unlimited interchange I try to break the game up into little matches taking heavily into account the quality of each teams on field lineup. If we roll out our best 13 for the first 25 minutes but they play theirs for the entire first half I am going to judge that first 25 different to the 15 before halftime. If we held the lead and they couldn’t score points until our cup guys came on I call that a win for that little part of the game. If we blow away a Cup side but struggle against their first graders I am not that impressed with the win.

I don't expect us to win tonight but it means nothing really. The NRL would have you think otherwise with their silly pre-season challenge. Good chance for some of the young guys to show what they can do. We'll probably play our run out team for the first half and then bring the others on in the 2nd half. Warriors will probably do the same.

No injuries is the best scenario rather than a win.

100% good chance to see guys like the Puru bros and also get a better look at prospects like gabrael
