So outside of the game in Wollongong, we’ve lost all our away games

This game had a strange feel for me from the start. The fact there was two NRL games following ours, it seemed early and the crowd was small....almost felt like a reserve grade game from the get go.

Had the reserve grade time slot where the sun blinds people too

It did feel like we were the curtain jerkers so to speak before the actual show.

Im genuinely worried for our season at the moment
We started off in opening rounds (not withstanding the rnd 1 loss) with so much potential but last few weeks with low energy below par losses against Broncos and Raiders, plus 2nd half fades against Manly and Storm definitely showing us where we truely are as team.
Add into that Suspensions for Kennedy and Ramien stretching our backline stocks, plus a mounting front row injury criss with Fincabe, Williams and Uele out - i think we're in a bit of trouble.

I dont think a lot of us have thought us to be anything other then a work in progress with a rookie coach, your going to get these sort of games while we’re still fine tuning, especially with a temporarily rejigged spine. We’re a 5th to 7th place side atm but we can get better as time goes and Hynes/Fitz continue to fine tune.

Besides….. we’re Cronulla. Its basically a club tradition to have a few of these **** the bed kind of games every year, even under Flanno we had them, its just who we are and have been for most of our history. No coach can truly ever change that. Just gotta accept it.

Our team list on Tuesday will be interesting too and tell us what type of coach Fitz really is.
Yes there as some enforced changes - with McInnes likely being named @ lock for Finucane with Tolman starting in front row.
Fifita will likely come back onto bench as cover again.

But Trindall shouldnt be named at 7 or in the 17 for than matter since he proved he cant handle bench utiliry role.

Metcalf should be 1 for the week to retain Hynes in the 7
And I think we need to move Talakai into the pack to cover the loss of Williams.
Can cover centre with Ikavalu on wing and Ronnie inside him

Its not ideal but the best we can do witb injuries and suspensions

I must admit I got carried away with our early season form. When we won four in a row I thought we’d truly found a side to cheer for and we were in for a good season. But aside from the Eels, we beat the Dragons, the Knights and the Tigers. Hardly what you’d call high calibre sides.

Then Melbourne showed us up and since then our consistency has gone out the window.

So against the Titans out of our full strength line up we’ll have:

No BHU
No Kennedy
No Ramien
No Finucane
No Williams

Our playing style is severely dented and our enthusiasm has waned. This is now the adversity I didn’t see coming and the one that will test Fitz’s resolve as Head Coach.

I am obviously not Fitz but here is my 17 against the Titans:

Miller (I’d prefer Metcalf but Fitz said he hasn’t trained there all year)
Katoa
Tracey
Talakai
Mulitalo
Moylan
Hynes
Rudolf
Brailey
Hunt
Nikora
Wilton
McInnes

Wade
Fifita
Tolman
Hazleton (need some fire and hard running)

Have I missed anyone?

I know it wasn’t Trindall’s fault we lost but we just need that Moylan/Hynes combo back.

Think that’s my choice too
Don’t love Fifita and Pele bench

Can we volunteer to be the team that misses out on Tragic Round next year?

If Hynes is named fullback again I'd be very surprised. Would rather Miller wth a question mark, Metcalf without and experience this year or Tracey with someone coming in to play centre.

Need to keep the spine intact as much as possible.

It wasn't a large crowd, and travelling Sharks fans came up for the Broncos game a fortnight ago, not for this one.

As much as we had multiple areas for concern & to fix, we need to get consistency with our forward pack & get them, on there off or bad days, to match the other pack, right there, starts solving partly most of our issues we had yesterday.

I like Hazelton in and Hunt starting. Good team Sir Chad.

I do wonder how much of last week, both physically and emotionally had an effect yesterday?

After the last 2 Qld games, I'm not looking forward to this week!
