Just watching the game on replay. Those Raiders are dirty pricks but they outplayed us.

Any questions over the benefits of having Kennedy in the starting team rather than Hynes at fullback are now eliminated.

Just a few points:

1: As good as WK has been, we lose nothing at all by playing Nicho at Fullback. Should chime in no problems at all.

2: Connor might not have the tackle busting power of Ramien, but he links perfectly in the backline, and is a very good all round consistent player with no real weakness.

3: Really hope Trindall makes the most of this opportunity. I like him, but hope that he doesn't stifle the fluency of our backline in attack by trying to do too much himself. A good solid all round game is what we need from him, and hopefully some good kicks.

4: We should be able to put these guys away without Wighton, even though we don't have WK and JR.

5: I think the player we are missing the most is BHU.

I’m livid with them, no excuse, they played the flu card already

I dont blame Trindall for this loss at all.

If we cut out most of our very unforced errors we get closer to a win. There first 3 or 4 tries were from our basic reserve grade mistakes.

We played like a pre-season trial. Considering this is the first 80 min game from Trindall, our whole spine and therefore team struggled.

IMO mistakes aside, we made two crucial tactical errors:

1. We shouldn't have weakened one position to fill another. Should have kept Hynes at 7 and brought it someone for fullback.

2. Wrong starting forwards. Should have started Hunt and kept McInnes on the bench. He wasted so much energy in the first 20 with his energetic runs - straight into their big forwards. They always turtled him which resulted in slow play the balls.

I don’t blame Trindall for the loss either but looking at it the way we play currently with Moylan and Hynes in the halves is better.. his timing is a little off there were a couple chances he picked the wrong option with his passes.. he seems erratic but 100% This is where Fitz shouldve been giving him time this year at 7 for the Jets to get this right

Going off the presser I don't think Fitz had a plan B for fullback (Miller not ready and Metcalf has even trained at FB). Actually Nicho was his plan B.

Unfortunately we fell for the same trap Parramatta did a few weeks ago when they put Dylan Brown in the centres. Lasted one week.
