Penrith are going to win it because they’re just better. The score seriously flattered the bunnies, and yeah the storm flogged the raiders, but the I reckon we would have beaten the raiders with Johnson playing and Brailey playing a whole game.

The storm have had an easy run to the GF, and Penrith get Kikau back.

The only way the storm win is if they’re allowed to slow the ruck down like the old days which is possible, because, well, Cam Smith. If the ref polices the set restart in a way that is consistent with the season, Penrith will be too strong too fast.

All of the above is null and void if Api is out injured.

Wasn't it you understating Api a wk or a 2 ago?

Agree but. Penrith not much chance without him. Turned them on the other night. They didn't start with what a real big games takes. Then Api said "this way lads" and off they went.

Ha, yes it was! I reckon they’d beat most teams in the comp without him, but not in a GF. He was a warrior against the bunnies.

Absolutely going for the Storm on Sunday. Generally don't go for the Storm but you can't help but respect their ability to constantly be there. They lose players and just bring others through. They don't recruit superstarts like the Roosters do. How Bellamy can turn Brenko Lee into a GF centre and get the best out of him is amazing.

I also can't stand Penrith this year, generally I don't dislike them but some of their players are just cocky aholes. Yeah I know it's probably how alot of fans think of Ronaldo and his carry on but *** me I hate Luai, cheap merkin. Stomping on heads, coming in and show boating and carrying on when someone else does something. Good player but can't stand him.

Defn going for Storm.

Plus if Storm wins we might see the end of Smith, which will hopefully mean the beginning of the end. i know they have Grant but then Bellamy retires soon.

I’m going for the storm. Only because the panthers were 2 premierships up on us, then we clawed one back. Both coming in the comp in ‘67, I’d hate for them to get another one on in such a short amount of time. Storm have been so dominant for so long, what’s one more?
You think exactly like me :glasses-cool:

I am also going for Melbourne as:
1) Less people get to gloat if they win
2) It would be good for Victorians after the lockdowns

I really hope yr right, but GF experience will tilt it the Storms way IMHO, however.

Yeah I'm very conscious that i don't have any mates that go for the Storm. Got plenty that go for the Roosters, Rabbits, Raiders and Panthers.

So go Storm

The Melbourne Storm are carrying the hopes and pride of 2 states in Victoria and QLD but I feel a reasonable portion of NSW are also coming on board.
If there is one thing you can count on in Sydney it is our disdain for the success of other Sydney clubs not that we enjoy interstate teams winning it particularly either.

Parra, Bulldogs, Tigers ect I can at least sympathise with with but the twin chins lifting the trophy , no thanks

I hope the two faced dog coach has his team shellacked but it will probs be a close game.
never really minded penrith as a team till Ivan got involved again

Its a conundrum really, my observations are that most Died in the wool League supporters in Vic, do NOT necessarily support the Storm. The Johhnie Come Lately League supporter or those with Rudimentary League Understanding, generally ALL appear to support the Storm. I stand to be corrected however, and the erstwhile Victorians on here may have a better perspective. I could go on about my observation of a perceived Disconnect between the Storm, and the Local League which is also a reason, however best i not.

So if Panthers win they’ll have 3 premierships to our 1.

Off the top of my head I think their overall win percentage and finals appearances is quite a bit lower than ours?

They’re a weird club. They are **** for like 15 years straight, then win a premiership out of nowhere and then turn **** again.

Don't fully get the hate on Ivan for ditching Tigers, he never wanted to leave Penrith and his son anyway, was always going to jump ship if a chance to return eventuated. It was Penrith, Gus and their board turning on Ivan Cleary that gave him the opportunity.
I don't really blame him for taking it.

Left them with some bad contracts but didn't sign those guys expecting/intending them to suck as much as they did, like the big contracts we are stuck with atm for guys who we are not getting value from

it's the way he left the tigers mate, not how he left and returned to the panthers

I can understand him wanting to leave the tigers as well, the problem was he had sprouted bs about the bus and being committed and then his communication to players, club and fans after he knew he was leaving to penrith was diabolical. he just did not approach or handle the situation well. never rated him much as a coach before this year either, something like a 45% win record prior to going into the panthers gig again which admittingly he has done very well with but as a cocky smirking *******

not as impressive as what Flanno or Robinson did over much longer periods of time at the same club

Storm for me. Two reasons
1. No mates of mine support them
2. I want to see Laui lose.
Its petty I know!!!
