Good call to move to Kogarah. I know it’s the enemy’s ground but I’ve started to like it since Sydney FC moved there, excellent ground for watching both soccer and League. Having both Sydney FC and Cronulla as regular tenants instead of the part time tenants that St George are means the ground might get a bit more attention when it comes to the field quality and fan comfort. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement since Sydney FC took up residence and now having Cronulla there nearly every week will hopefully continue to motivate the ground managers to keep the standard higher then it was before Sydney moved in.

In saying that though I’m disappointed we didn’t take a game each to Darwin, Fiji and a country town to help expand the brand. Can you imagine the Sharks Forever away trips we could of had to Fiji to support the boys LaoL.

I guess games moved kogarah makes sense and is a good idea for the “shire”
To travel to games. But a couple at bankwest or central coast could have broaden the supporter base
Let’s we how it goes and there is always 2021 to change the venues.

A little disappointed that the Sharks aren’t bringing 1 game over.
Hopefully either the Dogs or Roosters (or both) bring a Sharks game over, over the next 3 years.
Both teams each year (6 games over 3 years) but I’d take at least 1 game.

I'd say we didn't plan ahead to well, the easiest option was to take all games to Kogarah, and we've gone there all but one game.

Hopefully he have a bit of foresight and we're talking some big $$ deals to have a few games elsewhere in 21

I think there is some logic to the Sharks not taking a game to Perth just to avoid dragging their own name up for relocation more than necessary.

Hopefully Roosters/Bulldogs think it'd be funny to make us play them here though so I can get to a game. I managed to catch one in 2016 but nothing since then

Members information night - Tuesday, October 1

Sharks MediaTue 24 Sep 2019, 02:43 PM
Dear members,
I am pleased to advise that we will be holding an information session next week on our redevelopment plans for 2020 and 2021.

We really appreciate the involvement of you, our members, in our decision to use Netstrata Jubilee Stadium at Kogarah as the Sharks main home ground for the next two years.

There is no doubt that, with your support, we can turn this venue into a real fortress for the team.

We are also organising accommodation and activities for our game at the Sunshine Coast which we will keep you informed about.

But first, we want to make sure you have all the information you need about our move so our first “town hall” meeting will be held at the Leagues Club next Tuesday, October 1 at 7 pm.

This will be your chance to ask any questions about the redevelopment, our home ground plans, membership deals, transport – and anything else you need to know.

While we understand that it will be inconvenient for some of you to move away from PointsBet Stadium for two years, we believe we will secure our long term financial future by redeveloping the club.

Our aim is to make the move as easy as possible and we intend making game day at Kogarah and on the Sunshine Coast a real experience.

So please join us next Tuesday as we provide a full overview of the redevelopment and answer your questions.

I look forward to seeing you.

Remember it’s on next Tuesday, October 1 at the Sharks Leagues Club at 7 pm.

Regards
Richard Munro

From members email:

After discussions internally, with stakeholders and the members council, a decision has been made for members wanting to secure their seats at PointsBet Stadium in 2022 will be required to purchase the 11 seat membership package each year for the next two years at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. This will guarantee you can return to your current seats.

That’s pretty rough. Will they get the same sort of seating at Kograh or will they have to fork out for seperate tickets?

The email says it'll be like for like, ie if you have near 50m line seats they'll try to do the same. Obviously the complete lack of Eastern and Southern stands is going to make that hard.

I think it makes sense compared to being able to secure your seats 3 years from now with no investment. And thinking any new fans that supported the club in the next two years losing their equivalent seats once they go back to Shark Park would be unfair too.
