Cronulla Sharks

Matt Moylan, Jason Bukuya and Josh Dugan will all undergo shoulder operations. The first three will be back doing rehab in November and all will be good for the start of 2019.

Wade Graham is unlikely for a round one return with a six-month rehabilitation from an ACL injury underway. Jack Williams (pectoral) will return to training before Christmas.

Paul Gallen has a rotator cuff injury but the Sharks say he won't need surgery.

I saw photos of Dugan and Moylan both in slings at the Sharks awards night so I say they've already had the surgery.

Told ya's Wade wouldn't miss half 2019. Its 1 month today since the injury and its a 6 month rehab with about 5 months until round 1. Assuming no setbacks he'll be closer to r2 than r12.

Definitely more than a 6 month injury. Closer to 9-12 months before its fully recovered especially at an elite nrl level. Wouldn’t rush him back

Not anymore mate. Hodgson was back about 6-7mths later. Tanginoa at Manly did his ACL early this year and played again before the year was done.

You may be right Cap, but every person heals at different rates and every injury has a different degree of damage.
Whilst there have probably been some medical improvements to help reduce recovery times over the years (I'm certainly no expert) it is still hard to compare one person to another. Even if others have recovered from similar injuries it's not necessarily a reliable measure in someone else's situation.

I hope you are right and it is a 6 mth recovery but it could still we'll be 12.

Mine was a full 12 months with weekly physio. Granted I’m no elite athlete but it still takes a long time to heal and it’s all mind games too be honest. That was only 3 years ago

Yeah but mate, these guys would be at the physio far more often than weekly.

I get both your points.

ACL used to be 18mths, now as low as 6.

For Sharkyle its fair to compare the injury but not the rehab. I doubt you being at peak fitness is the absolute goal of your's or your employer's. No offense mate but you or your knee is unlikely worth $750k+ a year to your boss.

Well I hope you are right but I’m not expecting him back before round 10 next year

I'd be surprised to see him round one but would expect (hope) to see him not too long after. He'd be getting much more attention from better specialists than the average person and it's basically his entire job to rehab his knee until it is fixed.

Vrl/Storm Redirect Under 18s and U 20s into the NSW/NRL system in 2019 away from the QLD League. Finally somewhat of a proper Pathway for Vic Jnrs who will predominate in the lineups. My prediction is both teams make top 8, the 18s to Finish higher.

They played the best kids at Easts/Falcons this year rather than in the Vic team anyway. The reduced travel will be good for the other players though.
