I reckon we will miss the 8.

It doesn't bother me at all.

Not this year, we are still champions.

The NRL integrity unit has slapped Junior Paulo with a one-game suspension two years after he was involved in a road-rage incident in Sydney.

In a bizarre end to a saga that started in 2015 when Paulo was playing for Parramatta, the Raiders detailed Paulo's suspension on Tuesday night.

He was ruled ineligible to play at the Auckland Nines last weekend and the NRL All Stars fixture in Newcastle on Friday night as well as being banned from the opening game of the NRL campaign on March 4.

Paulo will also complete club-sanctioned community service after pleading guilty to common assault and reckless driving to an incident almost 16 months ago.

However, Paulo has been cleared to play in the Raiders' only pre-season trial against the Newcastle Knights on February 18 at Seiffert Oval.

So, why did this take two years? And more importantly, why can he play in a trial whilst suspended and Barba wasn't even allowed to train with us?

A step in the right direction although I'd strip it back more.

The NRL is aiming to reduce bunker decision times to less than 50 seconds as the governing body takes a less-is-more approach to the use of its $3.2 million technology this season.

The governing body claims video referral officials made only five errors in the bunker's first year of operation, yet will strip back the number of decisions it can rule on. As of this weekend's All Stars fixture, the bunker will no longer be able to rule on 40-20s or knock-ons in general play. The jurisdiction will now be limited to point-scoring plays, in-goal restarts and reportable fouls in a bid to speed up play and empower the officials on the field.

They shouldn't be ruling on reportable fouls either.

I disagree.

James Roberts kicking the Titans player whilst on the ground before the play the ball....Broncos score off the next play.
Try should have been disallowed with a penalty to Titans and Roberts in the bin for 10.

Blatant foul missed by on field refs should be called back by VR

There were 4 officials who should have seen that, is was blatantly obvious. They should have all been sacked for a week. The problem with using more technology is officials get lazy and rely on it too much rather than making a decision.

Only five errors in it's first year? Are they serious? There was probably 5 errors in it's first fortnight but their wacky interpretations nukes the stats

Glad to hear they will try reduce time taken on reviews though - few camera angles, make a decision and get on with it I say

Now just to cut down the time wasted on ****ing kicking conversions, I want 80 mins of actual footy not 65
