Still not convinced about props for next year. Too many guys in the list below are either not specialist front rowers, not yet signed or not yet proven. Maybe they think a young guy like Kurt Dillon might step up next year.

Supposing we get Barba I'd prefer a Robbo/Barba halves combo than Nu/Barba. I know Robbo doesn't offer much in the way of inspiring play-making inside our attacking half or the boot to get us out of trouble, but he does have a solid base, wont let you down in D and I think has more ability to steer a side around than Nu & Barba. I'm not pleased he's the best option anymore than the rest of you, but that doesn't mean he isn't.

The way I'm looking at it, Ennis can steer the team around from Hooker, that's a strength of his. So I don't think we're as reliant on having a general at halfback as much as we need a competent half that can kick to 1st grade standard. That's not to say that Nu is ready for that role yet. But whatever (I forgot where I was going with this post so I'll end it here)

You are right we are still light on for proper Props ,who can match it with the top 5 or 6 teams front row. Fafita is great at what he does but he still runs sideways.

We don't appear to have any real reserve strength to match it with the top teams

Gibbs and Robbo are gone I think. I thought Siolo was a lock?
Lock 2nd row. He played as a bench forward end last year. I think he's big enough to play anywhere so I put him in as a possibility, but like a lot of our "props", it's a stretch. It does give me hope that maybe our esteemed leader has given in and will play up the middle in 8 or 10 with Heino in 13.

On a similar topic, does anyone have the goss on some of the ex-NYC youngsters we had last season, and whether we'd be looking to retain them in secondary contracts?

Blokes like Winstone Asotasi, Patrice Siolo, Ben Chahoud etc etc. (I know Paul Simona is not with us this year for instance). Obviously it's still early, but the info on our squads is always a bit lacking.

Why isn't Paul Simona not with us next season? Did a club poach him? Or did we just cut him loose. Im a bit surprised.

Didn't we sign Paul Simona for 2 years?

Dillon will be In the top grade by the end of the year barring Injury, and Flanagan playing his bum chums that don't perform all year, as for Barba he will drift across field most of the year, run his support out of room, have at least 45-60 one on one misses in defence, but we'll sign him and blame all the blokes around him for his poor performances, got to love the politics of the top grade.

Just put kurt dillon at 5/8, he'd do a better job than some nobody who's won a dally m.

Dillon is a young kid on the way up, Barba granted can attack, but teams have worked out he is very fragile and he goes missing. There is no mongrel in barba, guaranteed he'll turn it up more than once this year, nobody want's him, he will end up in England by the end of the year.
