It's a ghetto thing - The basic reason is if you're poor, having something in brand new condition is a major status symbol. A kid in Compton sporting a brand new looking hat is showing that they've got money or are insanely careful to defend it.

Middle class kids appropriate the style thinking that it somehow gives them some street cred and cool but it's so freaking Vanilla Ice and embarrassing. It's particularly idiotic when kids in Australia adopt it thinking that it makes them look all gangsta and *****.

other clubs do have the 5950 caps

What are peoples thoughts on the new main jersey now that we've seen it in action.

I have to admit, its really growing on me. Still don't like that one thin blue stripe in the hoops, but the rest is great.

In the past our hoops jersey sides have been just sky blue, because some reason Blades couldn't/wouldn't continue the hoops right around.

So this year they made the sides black, added the shoulders and just bought down the black from the neck to add in the est 1967.

I reckon it looks good, especially now we have the sponsorship. Will look even better with a sponsor above our numbers.

I'm not a fan of the black on the shoulders, though I'm warming to it a little. The line through the hoop is a nice change but honestly, I wouldn't complain if they kept the hoops jersey the same every year. In my opinion, its easily our best jersey design. Would love to see it become iconic like the Red V and Souths' red and green stripes
