Love Richard Fisk, hate Phil Rothfield. Makes me sick that wanker calls himself a fan.

Sums it up for me. I would never have even clicked on the article if I had realised it was by Fire Face Phil.

Well handled by Fisk though. Poor Phillip just isn't smart enough to compete with him.

Well said, SR.

Fisk is the best thing to happen to our club in years.

I agree Rothfield is just a Sharks fan in disguise.

I don't think he really supports us, he just says he does.

I agree he's a tosser as well.

I like Fisk. He seems to just get about his job with a minimum of fuss, and I agree with a lot of the decisions he seems to be making. As a Shire man, I hope he's with us long term.

Sharks CEO Richard Fisk To End Tenure At Club

This continual back and forth praising between Fisk and Stuart is getting on my nerves. Fisk has fed that grub Dean Ritchie with enough ambiguous information for him to come up with those incorrect, destabalising articles to often for mine. He's been in the game long enough to know what not to say to the media.
It leaves me asking... What is his agenda?

Resigned. Finishes on July 21.

Sharks CEO To End Tenure At Club

Richard Fisk will end his tenure as CEO of the Hisense Cronulla Sharks on June 21 2010.

Sharks Chairman Damian Irvine has thanked Richard for his contribution during his 12 month contract.

“Richard’s contract expires on June 21st and he has indicated that he does not wish to renew his contract . Richard came to the club in 2009 to create stability and to pilot the Football club through a very difficult period.

He leaves having prepared our talented young team for the next phase of our re-build," Irvine said.

“The board and club are grateful for his effort. He has been a big part of Cronulla over the years and his experience in the game has been a great help to us all. We wish Richard and his family all the best for the future.”

An announcement on a replacement will be made in due course.

From NRL.com:

Cronulla have announced their second big-name departure this week, with chief executive Richard Fisk to quit the NRL club next month.

Hot on the heels of coach Ricky Stuart's announcement that he would leave the Sharks at the end of the season, his good friend Fisk on Friday revealed he would not renew his contract which expires on June 21.

Fisk arrived at the club following the controversial resignation of former boss Tony Zappia midway through last year.

"Richard's contract expires on June 21st and he has indicated that he does not wish to renew his contract," Sharks chairman Damien Irvine said in a statement issued by the club.

"Richard came to the club in 2009 to create stability and to pilot the football club through a very difficult period.

"He leaves having prepared our talented young team for the next phase of our re-build."

The club said a replacement would be made in due course.

Well thanks for announcing it the afternoon before the game.

It has been announced on a Friday afternoon to avoid media attention. In a few hours the big league story will be tonight's game and ratings for friday night news bulletins are traditionally low.

It is typical media strategy; release bad news late on a Friday and nobody notices. By Monday, its such old news that nobody cares.
