Fair point.... though with the AGM on Monday I think it'll stay well in the news anyway.

WTF is going on there? Wish someone would tell the fans. I'm so sick of this crap.

I'm with yoiu Iron, I'm now very very worried. It brings rats and sinking ships to mind...

Only last night I praised Fisk for his work. This doesn't smell good at all.

And when you start using words like "smell"... you know something's up.

I am not concerned, i was when i first heard it. With the AGM approaching maybe it was just good timing and he never had the intention of continuing. New Coach and a new CEO, we are moving forward.

Hate to say it but I'm starting to get very concerned that we may be screwed. Three big name resignations in the group CEO, then the head coach and now the CEO of the football club. Is there something that people don't want to be associated with around the corner?

Seriously concerned.:(

Geez some people here can put a positive spin on anything (except Pom's hands).

Imagine a company of which you were a shareholder lost its Group CEO, CEO and General Manager in the space of 6 months, all of whom were successful, experienced appointments.

What would you be thinking as a shareholder?

Wake up people!

Another Sharks Episode

I'm sick of hearing this crap about everyone leaving.......

They need to hire a politician for the next job, at least they hang around for 4 years.

All I here is we as supporters must stick together and support the club, there won't be a club soon.....This is very concerning

Just another episode in Fawlty Towers...........................................

You never know, but I think if there was that sort of problem, directors would be quitting first, rather than employees.

This is obviously very bad news given the timing, and Fisk has clearly done a good job in reducing the budget and turning around the media, but I wouldn't say he's been doing the world's best ever job in promoting the games etc.

I'm guessing the whole Ricky Stuart / Richard Fisk thing was a bit of a package deal as it was at the Roosters.

Fisk has obviously decided that he doesn't want to continue in the CEO role if his main supporter in Ricky Stuart is not going to be there.

I'd imagine that he has just served the required notice of contract discontinuation.

On to finding a quality replacement now!

You'd have to be the supreme optimist to find any good news in this situation. I was concerned enough when Ricky left but everyone seemed to think it was all good...now Fisk resigns and we are still thinking everything is OK?

We brought Fisk back to the Club from the Roosters, he is supposed to be a committed Club man - now he walks away. WTF is going on!!??

A message from Sharks Chairman - Damian Irvine

Just received this email.

Subject:A message from Sharks Chairman - Damian Irvine

Hi everyone,

Our fine Football CEO Richard Fisk has made a decision to not renew his 12 month contract after June 21st 2010. This news is sadly received by the board and I am sure he will be missed by everyone in the club. Richard joined us in 2009 when we were going through a very difficult period and I’m sure you will agree provided much needed stability and direction. As a board we are very grateful for his efforts and he was instrumental leading the impressive work everyone has put in to turn the club around from that tough year on and off the field.

Richard has been involved in Rugby League for many years and his experience has been extremely valuable for all of us. Please join us in wishing Richard all the best for the future wherever that leads him and thank him for being such a large part of the Cronulla Sharks Club over many years.

Regards

Damian Irvine
Chairman

I'm usually the first to argue your conspiracy theories, big fella, but I'm tight with ya on this one. This stinks bad.

We're lead to believe that while things are a bit rough at the moment, better times are on the horizon. If I'm Stuart and Fisk, two of the main players in ensuring we're a) still around and b) moving forward, then I'd want to stick around not only to reap the rewards of my hard work, but also to make sure no one goes and buggers it back up.

Me too. And I'm sick of the spin that seems to be coming from the top.

Even if if is becuase Fisk is a Ricky man (which is a s*** reason imo), the club can't keep a Shire local on a decent salary and doing a good job? Or a coach who bled black, white and blue and worked his rear off to bring these juniors up to speed?

(First one to mention Newtown wins a prize...? Not good.)

If the clubs situation was as bad as some people here are thinking then why would Flanagan accept the coaching role for next year? Fisk was never going to be long term. They said that from the beginning.

Good point.

fisk came here to show us how to save money, he has so now he is moving on

To what? The job here was an upgrade on what he had. Unless he's retiring or moving out of footy or whatever, it does not look good.

Anyway, anyone know who could should be a replacement? (And don't say Gow, cos you know it would neither be a good or realistic appointment).

Dean Treister would make a great CEO... he certainly has the managerial / business ability.
