<EDITED>

SHOULD Zappia not survive the push to remove him from rugby league, both Parramatta and Cronulla will have CEO vacancies. The obvious candidate is out-of-favour Manly boss Grant Mayer, who is unlikely to remain at the Sea Eagles beyond this season because of his falling-out with co-owner Max Delmege. Expect Mayer to look west - he lives close to Parramatta and is close friends with at least one Eels board member.

Barry Pierce will be Head of the Board and caretaker CEO until his resignation takes effect. Who gets the gig as his replacement will be dependant on whether they go ahead with the Extraordinary General Meeting... which some people suspect is getting railroaded... this thread has more info as to where the whole thing is at.

I see it highly unlikely that they'll appoint a new permanent CEO until the Board Membership is finalised... it's the Board's job to appoint the CEO and they're unlikely to find someone to take the job knowing that they might get booted within a couple of months time.

we need a local !!!!!

I dont think that should be the priority.

We need someone with good leadership, business skills and someone who can provide a positive face for the club in a tough time.

If that person is a local so its more likely we dont relocate then great but really anyone with good business sense right now would not relocate with the development plans coming up.

The thing about Tony Zappia was that he worked extremly hard and would leave a stone unturned...followed every lead or opportunity. Not a local. Well you might say how did that turn out?? but i'm just as disappointed he left as when Bird left.

We need a leader. someone that has personal drive to succeed, someone prepared to sacrifice. I like the approach of Todd Greenberg. See him on the footy show. Always "we", "we don't want this", seemed a professional, seemed like someone that keeps things within the club.

I have heard Brian Canavan mentioned.He has history with Ricky at the Roosters and also with the Sharks before that.He is a good man and would be a good choice.

Common Ragin, I agree with parts of what you’re saying but if I hear once more “Did you see Greenberg on the Footy Show how good is he” I’ll spew up. He has one good television interview and he’s a flaming superstar. Please!

P.Gow for CEO role!

I read in the telegraph some time ago that Fisk was being targeted formerly of the Roosters and linked to Gow.
