This is why what Flanno did with our boys over 2011-2016 was more impressive to me

Pumped them full of peptides and cooked the books to fit them all in?

Not as impressive as the tile work in the gym. That shyte is top notch

Flanno sent emails, hasn't been implicated any organising or making payments to cook the books
Closest thing to a syringe he has ever held is a caulking gun

agree on the tiling
gun coach, even better tradesman

People here seem to constantly talk about how Flanno was amazing in recruitment, how he has done a great job assembling the roster....... Now we know that its been done via rorting and all of a sudden Flanno isnt involved?

Fmd........

And yeah snowman i did cheer when they won. Been waiting 40 years for that, and i am gutted that its now under question and looking like we cheated to get it.

Boundos, the premiership is fine, NRL cleared it, don’t read into what gooses like Kent go on about. Flanno was an excellent coach, he will always be remembered as the guy to break our drought.

If Flanno was actually involved in any cap rorting I am surprised the NRL didn't mention the already naughty coaches name in their report nor certain Sharks board members with an ageneda and looking to deflect heat off themselves ensure this was leaked to the media.

all we know about Flanno is that he was sending emails. no way he is across all the in and outs of the board and administration. he may have told them 'I don't want to know' or 'just make it happen' but that is speculation. It would have been at hands length regardless he would not have been the one cooking the books or making the physical payments which is what I was disputing.

Bellamy claiming ignorance is a different story, that was massive breaches year on year. With the sharks we are talking relatively small payments which the majority of which were never paid

Flanno is at least guilty of arrogance and ignorance, that much we do know. He was still excellent at attracting players to the club and making them fit within his structures and being wise to potential bargains. The playing culture he built up was not thanks to salary cap infringements.

History suggests if Flanno has done something wrong it's typically captured on email for the record lol

Also this is the coach that missed an Auckland nines playoff because he miscounted our points differential

Flanno not being involved ahhahahahahahaha. Some people.

This is where I think people need to stop and think. You can't say that Flanno is awesome at striking a good bargain and attracting players, without acknowledging that he would have to know everything about what they were offered.

Agreed , every coach must be complicit in any salary cap discussions. Unless your Craig Bellamy of course.

I rang up the Big Sports Breakfast this morning.

Fast forward to 14:39 to listen.

I was nervous as, but I hope I still made my point.

Good on you Ryan. Funny thing is that you got the commentator to admit that we weren't over the cap but were in breach of the laws. And then next sentence he was saying we were over the cap again.

FMD this is what Kent's gripe is all about ?
Less than 1 % over paid players YET still way under cap
Whatta Cretton .
Source .Daily Telegraph snippet

This is despite the fact the Sharks were actually $130,000 under the salary cap when they won the competition, although the NRL have since found two non-compliant third party deals, collectively worth $70,000.

It's quite simple when the dumb **** talks about our penalty.

Let's say you have two people, one commits murder, the other tries, but fails.

Do they both receive the same sentence? No.

Melbourne achieved what they set out to achieve, we didn't.

It's not rocket science.

What we actually did in terms of TPA's & the cap and how the NRL and subsequent media outlets reported it have been shambolic and out of sync

the NRL needed to be alot clearer with what we were actually being punished for, quantify it and communicate it effectively - now the league worlds hating imagination is running wild with people calling for a stripping of premiership without even understanding what transpired
