Seriously, kick these arrogant ****s out of the comp. They add absolutely nothing, the people down there don't get a **** so what's the point?

Boot them and put a team where they'll be appreciated.

so what Storm are suggesting is setting a benchmark where you can exceed the cap by more than $500k in a season and legitimately go onto win and keep premierships in that same season

they have deadset lost the plot. maybe the storm CEO can tell Cameron not to keep citing the Sharks as some sort of relevant example... (which we arn't)

Storm copped record harsh penalties because no other club had before or has after been caught cheating the cap so excessively and so systematically oh and were trying to keep it hush hush btw

The storm could weakly argue for the Sharks premiership to be stripped and I would at least understand where that is coming from as there is some cause and reasoning behind it but there is no logical argument for Storm premierships to ever be reinstated.

Smithy still salty about Ennis pushing him in the back after dropping the ball lol

Well they should .
Storm's claims need to be put to bed and YES would be funny getting ALL their wrongdoings published AGAIN .

I can’t wrap my head around how they could seriously not think their cheating was much, much worse

If they want their punishment to be more like ours they still lose the premiership for being way over on those years AND they’d have to play the next two seasons with about 2 million shaved off their cap.

They should be grateful that they were able to keep most of the team together to allow them to win some premierships back!

Their cheating by keeping those guys together at club level also would have had a small impact on Queensland’s success too. Quite possibly enough for even just a couple of games to go the other way and break apart their run, from being as many consecutive, although probably still winning most in the stretch.

I think Storm can legitimately be pissed off if you can take their word that the NRL only had the information about them rorting the cap for 2 days before stripping them. It seems like an extremely short period to make such a huge decision.

But, that's what the Storm claim, I wouldn't put it past them to make that up.

What they have no right to question our investigation and punishment, especially after we've had it affect us for 11 months, and the punishment will last for 2 years.

Does seem quick... and would probably take more time now. But if it all got served to them on a platter by whistleblower they don’t need to do the months of digging they had to with us

people think it is the big 4 they kept, it also helped them keep a lot of players, good players that had good careers

the jesse and kenny were at the club, tohu was there, chambers debuted in 09, ryan hoffmann, dallas johnson - the list goes on

all those guys played international footy

that's right. the thing is they could have legitimately signed on the big 4 legally within the cap but it would have meant the rest of their squad is trash as the balance of cap space available would have limited their options.
the rorting meant they could fill out the other spaces with quality and ultimately have a gun team across the park

Bellamy improved alot of these players over time yes, but he had good stocks to work with and an incredible spine of players to fall back on

This is why what Flanno did with our boys over 2011-2016 was more impressive to me

I've said for a number of seasons that our squad on paper has been quite ridiculous so we shouldn't point the finger too much at other clubs salary cap. although we have carried some budget players in our backline/bench and alot of our reps are former reps at that not current ones it's still been an impressive group of players. also making smart timely signings where other clubs are shouldering much of the salary (barba, woods ect.) helps immensely.

If you haven't read Storm Cloud, the book that detailed all the cheating, you really should because it's outrageous how badly they cheated and how many people were involved.

Should invite Cam in to clarify a few things :)
