I also have anger & concerns towards the NRL, how can journo germs get their grubby hands on this type of info?

1) the NRL want it leaked?
2) the NRL don’t have the right type of employee’s working for them?

He has the breach letter detailing the findings which was delivered to the club. I'd be adding a #3 option considering his relationship with people over there.

why? what is rothfield doing wrong here?

reporting how the board ****ed up? that isn't rothfields fault

point your anger in the correct directions
The NRL has dealt with the issue, what’s the point of digging into
It and creating an even bigger crisis? We are already struggling to attract sponsors , more negative news just makes that even harder. He is supposed to be a supporter of the club, you generally don’t try to create and sustain damage by airing every tiny detail in an issue that is supposed to be closed. Unless of course you have another agenda. If it was Kent or another one of the News Ltd cronies I’d understand. Just not from a supporter of the club. I can’t think of another journalist who does this to the club they support.

He's not a supporter. He's a journalist. He's allowed to do what he is doing as a journalist. Labelling himself as a supporter is disingenuous and he should stop doing it.

I've seen it suggested that the figures provided in the Daily Telegraph are vastly inflated on the figures that were actually paid. I think they used the term commitments. If that is the case, it's intentionally misleading. I haven't bothered reading the rag because so much of what they write in that paper is rot (not just for sports).

Rothfield, Crawley, Hooper & Kent are perfect journo’s for New Idea & Women’s day or weekly, golden rule with those mags, ‘never let the truth get in the way of a good story’

it is his job to print what they find, the investigate and what they uncover

the nrl did their bit, the journos job is to print what was found

what he printed yesterday in regards to the email is nothing that the nrl didnt know

He wasn't in his usual seat on Saturday.

So he hasn't actually sat there since he broke the story a week out from the finals last year.

I found it interesting that he mentioned last night and in his article that his family are season ticket holders.

I reckon someone will give it to him if tries sit amongst the people and he knows it.

I hate the bloke but giving him a spray in front of his family is poor form.

Yeah I wouldn't be doing that.

Only adds fuel to the fire.

But I reckon there are some people who would do it as they speak first before thinking. (if they think at all)

I had originally written a very different post – where I said our relationship with the media is essentially an abusive one, and that we should ban the Fwit and be done with it – but as much as we'd like to, now's the worst time to do it.

With so much posturing from the NRL re expansion we need to get the media back on side somehow. Or at the very least stop giving them ammo.

From a personal perspective I hate the germ, and don't think he can hide behind his job title. If anything, the job title is proof in itself that he has everything to gain by dragging us through the mud. But for now at least, we have to play the game.

Yes, I agree.
What I don't appreciate is the way the NRL jurno's sensationalise and embellish stories.

You also have to question the timing and motives as to why this has been raised again a month after it had been dealt with by the appropriate governing body?

Are they trying to give Melbourne more ammunition to have their premierships reinstated?
Are they wanting the NRL to backflip and take away the 2016 premiership?

Is the NRL feeding him this (I can't imaging the Sharks or Flanno would have shared this with him).

Are they both trying to ensure Flanno never makes it back into the NRL and will keep "reminding" everyone what happened every few months until doomsday?
Or validate a future decision to relocate us?

I agree with reporting on "facts" but do it in the appropriate time not a month later and don't keep embellishing the story. You can't keep beating the same dead horse for a month of Sunday's. Move on!

That there just supports my post above.
And yes, it is upto us to stop giving them opportunities to bury us.
So are they going to dig out ASADA again now?

While I agree that Rothfield has every right to print stories about us, be it negative or positive, he needs to cut the crap where he constantly mentions how he is a Sharks fan and start being impartial.

He's now doing some weird Munchausen syndrome by proxy where he breaks a negative story about us and then boo hoos about how hard it was for him.

He needs to stop writing about us, give the story to someone else, until he can seperate himself from being a Sharks fan.
