Great White
I’d rather not draw comparisons, but I can’t help but notice that Will has been channeling some serious David Peachey vibes this season. It's hard to ignore the resemblance!
One of my all time greats.I’d rather not draw comparisons, but I can’t help but notice that Will has been channeling some serious David Peachey vibes this season. It's hard to ignore the resemblance!

And the ultimate back hand comment to the peachWhen I say he reminds me of Peachey, That is the ultimate compliment I can give Will.
Nowhere near Peach sorry mate. Peach did this game in game out for 10 years.I’d rather not draw comparisons, but I can’t help but notice that Will has been channeling some serious David Peachey vibes this season. It's hard to ignore the resemblance!

Kennedy has played at Peachey's level for probably 10% of his career. Couple games here & there.
I can't think of any player, past or present, that was anything like David Peachey. He was one of a kind.

David Peachey is my favourite Shark ever. It’s criminal he never played more origins than he did!
Frigging 1999. The only time I can recall The Peach got out lept. And to frigging Mundine.Pity he never won a premiership or 4
Imagine the lynching Peach would have got after the 1999 prelim!View attachment 32696
- Peachey 110 tries from 232 games for the Sharks (0.474)
- Kennedy 45 tries from 113 games (0.398)
Peachey a better player overall, though Kennedy safer under the high ball.
Peachey would have copped plenty of abuse too though if social media/forums had been more widespread during his career. Don't think you would find a defensive highlights reel for him either (going off memory).
"peachey had lost his spark over the last two years and had been playing like crap.
he just wasn't injecting himself like he used to (and is now).
just like thommo, i think it got stale for him and he needed to get shafted to fire him back up again.
it was good of us to get rid of him and good for him and souths too by the looks of things.
besides, how much longer did you think simmo would sit in the queue before he wanted to jump ship?"
He had an unhappy day in the 96 Prelim too.Imagine the lynching Peach would have got after the 1999 prelim!

Darren Albert....we definitely didn't get the '97 versionAfter our first game against the Broncos in 2006, I actually remember people saying we made the right decision to let Peach go when Simmons had a blinder debut at fullback.
Especially after Simmons made a length of the field break from a kick return and set up Darren Albert to score.
Show’s how easy it is to judge in hindsight. Simmons turned out to only be an average fullback, however he was the GOAT winger![]()
Ben Creagh agreesIn 2016, Ben Barba was in beast mode.
I think there's a bomb he's still looking for in the skies some 20 odd years later. Came with great rep but had no business playing in the NRL at this stage of his career.Darren Albert....we definitely didn't get the '97 version
