we are in a really interesting position now

with no centres left on the market, we should be finding out right now if BJ Leilua definitely has a get out clause, and aggresively encouraging him to get out of his contract

if we cant do that, we should either re-sign jono for 1 year, move lewis there (thought he was brilliant there on friday) or sign a winger and put gagn in the centres.

i would not be against reece robinson, the guy has pace and can find the try line, plus might give us a shot at signing his brother who is a god damn speedstar

Supposedly matai, Brett Stewart and Watmong have asked for a release. Go hard out for Matai i reckon

Meanwhile, Townsville product Valentine Holmes has re-signed with Cronulla.

Despite speculation linking the exciting back to the Cowboys, it is understood he signed a three-year contract with the Sharks.
mate, that means jack ****. Nothing official has been announced, it's all speculation on both fronts

It did say HAS been signed.
Surely you would not print it as fact and risk getting sued?

After reading the Zero Tackle article.
Does NOT sound like he's signed beyond the end of next year. mmmm frustrating

Travis has had an awful year in NSW cup. Reece could be a goer - great try scoring record - but isn't great defending the high ball or bringing it out from his own end.

Looks like Matai will end up at the Warriors.

Dale Copley and Mahe Fonua both had breakout games in the centres over the weekend. Both got doubles, Fonua assisted another and Copley made 4 LBs.

Both have defensive deficiencies. I think Copley's ready though and would improve quickly if he played centre each week. Fonua is pretty cumbersome laterally but could make a useful power winger.

When Flano signed Graham he said that he liked to get young guys when they were approaching 40 games so perhaps he will be interested in those two.

Obviously if either Leilua or Gagai are now available then we should be making a play. Likewise if any of McManus, Uate or Sione Mata'utia.

There's some no name wingers out there with talent. Chanel Mata'utai at the Knights is pretty solid and has improved and Ngataua Hukatai at the Warriors is a bit like Fusitua. Ego Nabuli and Kev Naiqama have flaws but also a lot of talent.

There are options out there but time is running our.

Anyway, we need at least one centre and one winger to make 7 decent first grade options for next year (not counting Ayshford). Probably another two backs on top of that too. I'd be happy for Jono to be one of those non-frontline guys.

Hopefully something of quality falls out of the coaching merrygoround tree for us to use some of our cap space on.

Didnt reece robinson have a real bad go here when he was younger? I thought he was a bit dirty about the way he was treated by the club? I had heard that thats all.

Agree with BJ. everyone loves a bj and he is pretty much the only quality centre possibly available.

Also agree with Snowman regarding Lewis, played well, i think it gives him a chance to use his good line running that he has gotten accustomed to, but he would lack the speed in a turn and chase situation in some last tackle options in defence

Not sure about Copley - maybe, but I don't want desperation signings

Big yes to Leilua, **** no on Gagai, yes on the rest.

again - this is a desperation list

Definitely one centre & one wing, but only one of these needs to be top dollar at this stage - agree with keeping the mong around.

Hopefully something of quality falls out of the coaching merrygoround tree for us to use some of our cap space on.

Of course
