Two things for me-

L. Gorman & M. Ennis

Lyall has just bought a new dimension to the club, everything he does is class. He engaged with with everyone, from nuffie fans to sponsors with such professionalism and passion.

Ennis is a great signing in himself, but he gets a mention here because he has also lifted the team around him. It's one thing to have a great player, its another to make a team around him so much better.

Honourable mention to the fans. We're not quite there just yet, but give it time we will be a powerhouse fanbase.

That pretty much nails it Addy .
Take one of the above away and we wouldn't be where we are now .

Ha! I thought that programs like this would be a good fit for community-run Clubs like ours a while ago.

From memory, Gray ran one along these lines at the Dragons too in partnership with Wollongong Uni.

Anyway, good one Sharks.

From what I have seen, There has been huge amounts of work been done in front of house. New membership head, a top quality leagues club manager.
Our support staff (include Andrew Gray and co) have been a huge improved and are quality. Hopefully they keep the cash pumping into them, so they can continue their fantastic work.
Club is listening to the members.

There is still areas of improvement, but they are on the right track.

Our ability to evolve as a footy side has been something of note to me. We started very poor and looked confused but slowly grown our game and style(s) to adapt. I thought we'd be outta contention by Origin.

I struggle to think of a player who hasn't improved. When they all put it together we're almost unbeatable.

Obvious mention has to go to Lyall. Best recruitment in our history I think he'll be remembered as.

Great thread, to be honest it's for the first time seeing players having to compete for positions in the team.

The leadership of Ennis, combined with the hunger of the youth, it's been an absolute pleasure to be a sharks fan in 2015

Sponsorship

We went from having no appeal what so ever to a business coming on board, and we werent even in the top 8 or anything at that point. We've got a complete jersey full of sponsors, we have a stadium sponsor and we have a pile of game day and signage sponsors.

Crowds

Seems crowds were up this year from previous years. The atmosphere at the Manly game with 19,200 people was so good. I went to a few games years ago with crowds like that, but its been a long time.

New guys

Holmes and Bird have been 2 guys who are talked about regularly amongst the rugby league media etc. They are both future origin players. We need to do whats needed to retain both guys.

Ennis

Without this 1 guy, we wouldnt be in the 8. Period.

ASADA

Hardly talked about unless its a swipe from some bitter fan. Mainly only mentioned as 'look how far theyve come from last year'

All of this, but I'd like to add the effort the Club has gone to this year to engage with members. The frequent emails have been pretty good, but the extra effort during the finals series has been awesome - tickets for tomorrow's game, chartering a flight for members when the normal domestic schedule couldn't meet demand and today they texted members that Lyall will answer Q&A at Kirwan pub tonight.

I'm impressed.

1. It's mid to late September and we're still playing.
2. We have a well respected long term sponsor.
3. Looks like we've got the front office sorted.

Consistency this year has been awesome. Keeping the bulk of the 17 the same every week is key when you've reached the 8 and looking to go further.

How far we progressed this year....with the inadequate kicking game we had.

Imagine if Maloney had been with us this year instead of next year - we'd have been holding up the Norm Provan/Arthur Summons trophy at the end of the grand final - and Shark supporters everywhere would have been delirious with exhilaration.
