Well the title says it all really this is not about individual performances more to do with the club itself and try and elaborate on it a bit if possible.

I have to say the two main things have impressed me and that's the use of youth but even more so our conditioning, having guys on the
field week in week out has been fantastic I guess some of it comes to luck but it really does look like we have moved ahead in this regard we are even looking
for interns for the performance unit.

That we beat Knights in Newcastle. That's all they have to do each year to impress me!

Our attack has impressed me the most. The way I see it, attack breaks down into three categories. You've got run metres, effective kick metres, and try scoring.

The fact that we can get run metres in the forwards and backs seemingly at will. We've been doing it in the forwards for a while but not we can spread it around to do it even more.

If we can just get some kick metres next year we are 2/3. The try scoring can come off the back of that.

With the game getting quicker and reduced interchange I think it'll suit us. You won't need complex sweeping plays to score tries, more quick reactive play.

I'm excited.

Gorman. The Doctor. The fixer.
He has given us a professional touch and that seems like anyone running the Sharks was just never capable off in the past.

We are becoming exciting to watch.

I'd say the professionalism the club seems to be displaying. From things like media releases, fan engagement, game day experience. To think it's only going to get better too !

Also the clear the conditioning team have done a great job in the off season and through out the season. Its no coincidence that once Boyle left we've seen vast improvement in this area.

Willy - What are these interns you are referring to ? Uni Students or something ?

In your head, rent free
where do you start?

off the field, we are running better. the board are functioning and the CEO is probably the best in the business.
the juniors seem strong, and that will be good going into the future. yes our 20's were crap, but they were so young.

on field speaks for itself. attack has improved, defense has improved. we are winning despite having no halves.
we have a game plan that gets tweaked depending on the team we play.

the 10 million dollar turn around, the FoJ sponsor. everything. this year has been enjoyable

We've gone from basket case/laughing stock to what we're seeing in 12 months. Amazing when you think about it

These two posts sum it up pretty well.

I've been extremely impressed this year by the professionalism and improvement within the club.

Lyall has made the world of difference this year. Are we going through the most stable period in the club's history at the moment? You would have to think so.

With the progress we've made with sponsors this year does anyone know if we have more third party sponsors in the pipeline? It would be nice to be able to compete with the richer clubs in this area.

Coaching and administration. I cant remember where I heard it but we were breaking all types of records with sponsorship and I could be wrong but member ship as well.

Secondly, no dramas for a season off the field. Fafitas ref yelling was as bad as it got this year and it was dealt with and minimal repercussions. Great player management. Lyall and keogh appear to be the best front of house team we have ever had.

Lastly the coaching. We have across the board a team all playing well, effective game plans that work and style of play thats very easy on the eye.

We were last in 2014 and look at us now. Great time to be a sharks fan. Win or lose in queensland this weekend we have done very well.

I know it is popular to say the administration, but the best thing this year has been the emergence of Bird and the continued development of Holmes. Forgetting the first four rounds, the team has gone from struggle to a joy to watch. Obviously Ennis is equally as responsible for that also.

So yeah, for me, the quality of the football has been the high point of the year. Administration should be a given.

I like the way we're heading.

They've given us fans a feeling of worth and importance, lots of information coming out on a regular basis with team news, initiatives, merch etc, etc.

Most of all I'm very pleased we've given ourselves a chance of putting something into the cabinet this year, coming from wooden spooners thats not to be sneezed at. We've played fairly consistently this year and show more heart and guts than a lot of other sides. With a few key signings plus our youth next year and beyond looks bright too.

Yep apparently for the high performance unit, have a friend up here who was going to apply but she just found out she is pregnant so everything has changed for her but I doubt she would have got it
way tooo cute.

Cheers Willy, that's awesome. Love reading how the club is looking to improve it's sports science department, for mine one of the biggest things holding us back for so long and the difference between us and the big fish.

It's interesting, we've probably had fewer injuries than most clubs this year. So is that just luck or do we have a better program than people think? I know there's more to sports science than that but it's a pretty big part of it I would have thought.
