I don't know if Williams is up to N.R.L anymore nor fits into the dynamics of the team.
Anderson will be there instead of Bird.
Sharks will have the best pack on the field, halves need to gel. And centre pairing needs to improve.
Our bench will not be as solid next year as it was this year.
Snowden and Millington need to step up a gear if able. Though I was impressed with their effort.
Green and Brown looked promising. They need more of a go.

Im trying as hard as I can, but every team I go through simply cant match those players! Not even manly, who have had so many wraps about bieng the biggest and strongest, big rossy`s knee is coming good and he`s gonna smash guys like watmough and kite into little pieces!

You are kidding me, right? Williams is a potential rep player if you ask me, especially considering his young age. Before he did his knee last year he was pretty much man of the match in game 1. Plus he has the skill and ability to cover a variety of positions.

As for our forwards, I agree they will be awaesome and the addition of Williams only adds to that. Our bench still looks strong, especially if Selmes comes good this year. Ross is got to prove his worth. I, for one, feel he has had his chance and failed to impress. Only had a couple of good games last year and is dominated by other forwards too often. Plus, he is shown up week in, week out by Douglas at less than half the cost.

Manly still very good. Even with the loss of Menzies. Kite, Perry, Bryant all big, aggressive and mobile. Cuthbertson, G. Stewart and Watmough all very mobile and skillful.

Can't overlook the Warriors either.

Our pack is right up there though.

All means nothing if the halves don't capitalise on the meters made though.

I agree. Williams was almost right to make a return in the finals if we really needed him. He turned an absolute corner in the 2007-08 off-season/pre-season and looked the goods for rep footy, only to get chopped down early in the year.

It might take him a few games off the bench to get back to his best, but to suggest because of a busted ACL his NRL career could be gone is a bit of over kill I think.

Melbourne might go close:
8. Lima
9. Smith
10. White
11. Manu
12. Hoffman
13. Johnson

Thats a tough one. If you break that pack down, they're pretty ordinary players with the exception of Smith.

You need only watch White and Hoffman in rep teams to see they're average and not up to the standard of the players around them, but in a Storm team they seem to get the job done.

Lima and Manu run until something stops them. Which is a good thing in a forward, don't get me wrong. But they're hardly up there with the best in terms of individual ability.

Johnson is a tackling machine, provided he manages to stay concious. Every team needs a workhorse, but I'd still prefer Bird or Gallen as my lock.

Once again it comes back to what the halves and backs manage to do with the space created by the forwards. Obviously Melbourne's backline is an embarrassment of riches and needs only the most basic of go forward to convert meters into points.

Williams does not have that agressive defensive nature which has made our team strong. His positional play is poor and is lukewarm in defense. Rep player? More like fringe player. Prove me wrong......Prove me wrong Reece.

I think he will. From memory he is one of our top tacklers as well as top metre gainers.

We must have been watching 2 different blokes. Some of the cover defense Williams was pulling off playing along side Simmo saved our arse on a bunch of occasions.

You are intitled to your own opinion, I dont agree but he'll have to rebuild up to what he was before injury and hopefully it wont take too long next year, he'll probably start on the bench or 2nd grade.

I'll have a crack at proving you wrong...

Average tackles per match Reece Williams 14th in NRL, from memory he was second highest tackler after two matches. As an added bonus he also has 5 tackle breaks to his name, one line break assist and one try assist.

All in only two matches? Fringe player, he makes most first graders look mediocre.

Toops will never be lock either.

As for Storm the only bloke I rate is Blair. Manly have a good pack, probably the only other one besides us that have a good blend of strength and mobility.
