Junior cricket all done now, only GFs remain. Our club only has two teams in the grand finals, 14B and 16A, that is a bit down on previous years. Our 12Cs went through undefeated in the regular season but lost their semi so were bundled out.

My boy had a good season in 16Bs, here are his stats:

Batting - 147 runs, average 14.7, 38th in the comp out of 115 players (mainly batted 7 or 8), high score 49 not out.
Bowling - 18 wickets, average 12.67, 8th in the comp out of 115 players (always opened the bowling against the best batsmen.)
Fielding - 8 catches, 19th out of 115 players.

The 16B comp was a tough one with 9 teams and many of those teams had players who probably should have played A grade.

Pretty good for us to finish equal 4th and only miss out on Semis by quotient/net run rate.

That's excellent mate!

My son has decided he wants to trial for reps in 2 weeks. So much so he isn't going to his best mate's sleepover party the night before because he wants to be fresh in the morning.

Highly unlikely he'll make it as it's for Hornsby District and Hills District. There's a strong Indian presence up here and you know how seriously they take it.

Either way I love his determination. He's turning into a very good pace bowler.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas says he won’t be bowing to a “galling” request from the Adelaide Crows for a financial incentive to allow the Sheffield Shield final to be played at the Adelaide Oval between two AFL games.
