It's actually quite ironic that you chose a quote from The Matrix to title this thread Iron, as I believe that last year we may have just found out how deep the rabbit hole goes. :)

Didn't wear my Sharkies jersey yesterday to the Sydney Easter Show (mate woke me up at about 8:20 and said he was picking me up in 10 minutes, and had no idea where my jersey was and couldn't spend time searching for it) but I was surprised at the amount of Sharks supporters I saw out there. Made me very proud, and gave a couple of them a thumbs up.

...Though I'm sure they would've been a bit weirded out by a guy wearing a giant Willy Wonka hat, geared up in glow sticks and wielding a lightsaber.

Golden Rule:

You must always know where your jersey is....:)

So how was the money show, worth going or same as years gone by.

:cheers

What can I say, it was different yet sadly the same. I hadn't been in about four or five years, but most places were in the exact same location as last time. The Robosaurus was the most Americanised, boring, conventional piece of trash I had to sit through. Now I love me some pyrotechnics, but it was just bland and made even cornier by the pathetic commentary ("Ooh, is Robosaurus HUNGRY?!?" *cue for mindless applause*)

Fireworks were awesome, especially with the green lasers.

Animals, meh. Although I don't mind looking at the dogs, especially the couple of Staffys that were there.

Showbags were more or less the of the same crap. However still bought Willy Wonka (purely for the hat, hate the lollies), Glow Crazy, Powerade and FHM bags.

There was also a FIFA PS3 tournament on, and the winner recieved a PSP with 2 games.

Overall I spent around $200 on merch, games and food. You don't realise you're spending it, but you do ($5 to shoot water into a hole to win a giant stuffed Mario? Heck yeah!). The Carny games were rigged as ever, but one of my mates still managed to somehow win an armful of prizes. He also stepped in horse ****, which was just priceless and a great way for karma to work as to stealing my prizes!

If you visited in the last couple of years and weren't too impressed, I doubt you'd enjoy it much more this time around. But if like me you just want to spend a day being an idiot with a group of mates for something to do, go ahead and take the plunge!

P.S: If you go, you MUST visit the Gelato Bar outside the main arena. Wow, I could never eat ice cream again without being disappointed. I had double scooped cone of coconut choc and macadamia caramel. :bulgy-eyes:

By the way, sorry for going a little off-topic.

I think I'll can this years show, as you state, same as every other year. I'll take the kids to the Zoo or Darling Harbour.
Thanks for the info.

:cheers
